Sorry I made a mistake on my last post. Williams never KOed Martinez and Martinez deserved to win their first fight in my opinion. Margarito and Cotto both KOed Martinez.

GGG has one of the worst resumes in the history of MW. What about his resume is "better" than SEXY Sergio ?

Martin Murray fought Martinez in Argentina for the title. The fight was very close and most viewers thought Murray got home country robbed. He knocked Martinez down. Two years later still prime Murray fought GGG and lost every round and was KOed. Martinez better than GGG???? Martin Murray would strongly disagree. Most of the GGG haters don't know sh it about his record or the good fighters like Murray that he knocked out in title defenses.

When you take GOOD fights those things happen. And the Cotto fight has an asterisk for me. Sergio literally couldn't even spar during that training camp and was clearly shot at 39 years - like most fighters are.

GGG LOST to Dervenchenko and keeps fighting cab drivers instead of challenging himself.

I'll take Sergio's career over GGG although GGG made more $$ but they're both well off

They were both good, but GGG's legacy with 20 MW defenses, including a methodical beatdown of Murray, the man many felt beat Martinez, make it an easy pick. Haters will hate and diminish every win that GGG has, but beating DJ and Canelo, at 36, give him the better wins. Had Sergio started boxing sooner he could have been special.

Why didn't Martinez step up to the plate when both he and GGG held a piece of the middleweight world title and GGG challenged him to a unification fight????? Martinez turned the offer to fight GGG down flat as did Martinez's conqueror Cotto who also turned down a unification fight with GGG. GGG can only fight those willing to share a ring with him. He can't make guys fight him if they don't want to fight him.

On top of that GGG never lost a fight until the debatable lost to Canelo in Canelo's boxing back yard of Vegas. GGG had a KO win streak of 22 KOs in a row. GGG tied Hopkin's record of 20 successful defenses of the middleweight world title. In contrast Martinez lost several times including KO losses to Margarito, Williams and Cotto. Martinez was not on the same level. GGG was much better and will be remembered as better.
Many ppl have GGG wins "debatable" over Jacob's.

Yeah you are absolutely right most of us think of Murray, Geale, and macklin as bums. When I rewatch those I lmaoff at how ****** and clumsy and slow these guys fighting style was. BTW it’s hard to credit ggg with anything because not only did he pick up the wba regular and super on a vacancy but he also got the wbc on a vacancy. Lemeix for the IBF was his first and only champ he beat to get a belt so if we judge Golovkin like you guys do Canelo then Golovkin was actually a paper champ for most of those fights you guys always brag about vs them bums. When Canelo fought ggg he was actually coming in with about an equal claim to being the official champ at middleweight because he was lineal and he actually earned the wbc belt. Nothing more
