Until we see the paperwork for the fight contract each had to sign anything else is speculation.

Each side has their stance and they are sticking to it.

I'd love to go back to 2009/2010 and see this fight but we never will be able to.

the excuses mentioned in the poll are just nonsense

all of that sillyness could have simply been forgotten

none of that nonsense is reason to kill a super-fight

That holds about as much weight as Houser claiming he heard Floyd failed 3 USADA tests which were swept under the rug.

Pacquiao was flying so high at the time I don’t think he saw a Floyd fight as a must have. It never has really mattered what the fans clamor at Pac to do and who to fight. He gave control of his career to Arum and his advisors. By that time he had just obliterated Hatton, Oscar and Cotto at weight classes he had absolutely no business in. There was plenty of opportunity around welterweight to not indulge in a Floyd fight. The numbers made sense to carry on against the rest of the welterweight stock and in turn was a loyal Toprank asset until he finally wisened up. Floyd clearly did not ever want to fight Pac and was rueing the day that he’d finally be out of the picture. Arum also had no intentions, like Haymon, to bet these guys against one another. I think Pacs great comeback after the Marquez KO earned the respect from Floyd to maybe give this fight another shot. No bs, just make the fight happen.

Honestly, I think it was a power move that backfired. Then afterwards both guys realized they were making better money not making the fight than they did by making it.

Wasnt too much for Rios and JMM when Manny wanted it.

I really dont understand why wanting stringent PED testing for both combatants in the biggest fight in history could be so bad, and then I have no fkn idea how you can stand with a guy that refused. The implications are just unreal, then to start wanting to be notified in advance when testers come and then to cap off with a cut off date.

And then to throw wood on the fire Manny demands of his opponents the very same testing he refused to take for the richest prizefight in history.

You could not make this sht up in Hollywood.

They didnt want a FM fight back then because Floyd would kill their goose that laid the golden egg.

Arum milked Manny to point now its ok to lose to Floyd, if Floyd beats Manny in 2009-10 thats the end of Manny AAA run, they made so much more money not fighting Floyd than they did fighting him, and to lose back then was a risk the brains behind Mannys matchmaking did not want to take.
