Why do people rate Mayweather higher than Pac when he never challenge himself at 160?

He would have absolutely beat the Martinez that cotto fought. Cotto was too small for mw too, but he now has lineal mw champion on his cv.

Nah that’s a terrible comparison. Canelo was a proven world champion with multiple defences.

You mean the crippled Martinez? If Sergio weren't crippled, Cotto may never have won his WBC belt. And let's not forget, Golovkin was a beast and Cotto's mandatory after Miguel beat Martinez. He absolutely didn't want any part of Gennady and neither did Floyd. Don't act like Cotto is some longstanding MW champion. He defended it twice, lost it, went back to welter for two fights then retired after Ali handed him his ass. Floyd was smart enough not to go down that path.

You’re right, cotto may not have won and certainly didn’t know Martinez was crippled...which is why he deserves full credit for becoming mw champion. He took the risk and got the reward.

That fight would have done more for floyd’s legacy than maidana. Afterwards, he could have dropped the belt, fought pac and retired.

            - -Everyone and the Pope knew Maravilla was fighting on one leg by then.

Point being Cotto took the offer and TUE 51-0 passed.

            Just the facts, ma'am!

How do you know that Cotto didn't know that Martinez was crippled? The announcers mentioned in the week leading up to the fight that Martinez had hurt his knee and got permission to wear a brace. You don't think Cotto's camp was watching Sergio?

I don’t think anyone knew the extent of his injury...possibly not even Martinez knew it would affect him that much. Either way, cotto still took the risk and got the payoff. Like I said, maidana or Martinez for the mw championship...which does more for floyd’s legacy?

                  - -TUE 51-0 woman beater his legacy.

A more cowardly, skulking POS has yet to be created.

You know Floyd always played it safe. Maidana had just moved up to WW in 2012, while Floyd had been there since 2006. Sure, moving up to MW and beating Martinez would have benefited Mayweather's legacy more, but his mantra was "safety first", remember?
