how does it make no sense? what made no sense is why they let ward cheat nonstop. well that's a turn of phrase. it actually does make sense if you think there is money and ratings behind it. remember boxing is a business and this was an example of it in the worst way

of course he does. just look at his face. absolute shock and this is the guy who shows no emotion in his life/commentary etc...

if you look at the run up to the rematch i called exactly what would happen. ward got away with everything in the first fight(people only focus on the horrible decision) and he's going to double down on the cheating, and he did. he knew he could, so he did.

Ward could fight the same crop of fighters ten times and I’d be surprised if he made it out undefeated even once. Just lucked out on the first go around. I knew it. He knew it. Weak chinned fighter who was nearly destroyed by Darnell Boone. Adopted the John Ruiz grappling style and counted his lucky stars all the way to early retirement before someone could expose him for the fraud he is.

ill put it this way. if ggg was born in the states he would have been a star boxer, actually even faster since he would have gotten more notice earlier. if ward was born anywhere else he probably never even has a pro career, and if he does no one would give him any notice at all, best case scenario would be that he builds up a shiny undefeated record and gets a big fight and gets dq'd henry awkindade style. unfortunately when you are the a-side you can do anything you want. henry you were born in the wrong place!
He used all his skills and beat everyone in front of him (he lost the first Kovalev fight to me). We get it daggum, you don't like him or his style. Unfortunately for you, he'll go in the hall of fame despite your gripes

My issue with Ward vs other 'dirty' fighters is a lot of those other guys could really box at times imo...I would be in awe at times of guys like Holyfield and BHop...so when they went a little dirty, I didn't really care much or notice.

Ward just seemed like he didn't have much else going for him besides the dark arts...and with him always being the home fighter, he always got away with it, and got really good cards too in competitive fights.

What money and ratings would there be behind it? He doesn't have the most pleasing style and he's a conservative guy in his nature, that doesn't bring ratings and scream for money to be thrown at him

                Froch said it best.

"I don't rate Andre Ward. he does a lot of illegal stuff like bending below the waist, excessive clinching, headbutts and such."

he shouldn't be rated. if the fight was in a neutral venue. the outcome would be very different.

i've never seen him box against elite opposition. period.

not kovalev. not froch. not kessler. not abraham.

he was fouling 2 minutes of every single round.

they were throwing money at him foolishly hoping his brand would build.

it just never worked because the audience knew the truth.

is Jay Z dumb for paying him 6 million a fight? He thought people would eventually pay to watch Ward. AMERICAN GOLD MEDALIST THAT HASN"T LOST!

People know for a fact that Andre Ward is a complete fraud. nobody cared.
