Lol...GGG started looking shot, as soon as he started fighting other good fighters.

He was by far a champion and top fighter in his weight class but he never proved to be the all time great beast HBO said he was. When surrounded by real contenders he looked very beatable.

Had nothing to do with age, it was his competition. He was good l, just not the “top 25,” all time great Middleweight Lampley and company attempted to create.

If GGG had faced Kell Brooks and Daniel Jacobs with the same results in 2013-14 instead of 2016-17 then I would agree with you.

Also, I have noticed that overrated hype jobs and weaker titleholders tend to get big fights way easier

Case in point, Julio Caesar Chavez Jr. had no problem getting a PPV date against Sergio Martinez and everyone and their mother wanted a shot at Paulie Malignaggi when he won a belt at 147. If Golovkin was truly that overrated then an elite opponent would have tried to "expose" him way sooner. That's just how it works.

I think the rematch with Canelo took a lot of out of Golovkin, and then he looked quite bad in parts against Derevyanchenko. Maybe he was a bit sick, but yes, that was a fight that could've been scored for Sergiy.

Where its appropriate yes he should be held accountable. For instance, I think Jacobs and Dervy are every bit as worthy of getting a rematch with GGG as GGG was worthy of getting his rematch with Canelo. He should have ****** it up and met Canelo at a catchweight when Canelo gave up the 160 belt. Whether Canelo weight drained him or was waiting for him to age he would have been at a disadvantage regardless. But lets not pretend age isn't a factor and that he wasn't ducked during much of his career.
