Those are actually facts but ok. Just say you don't like GGG and we'll move on.

regarding G getting hit... go watch the Ouma fight which was back in 2011

Golovkin's " decline " started when he fought Danny Jacobs
I appreciate your point of view and I respect that you have an informed opinion. I may not agree with everything you said but I certainly respect it.

GGG is half an inch taller, but has a 5 inch reach disadvantage. Don't know how that makes him bigger. And Hagler was cut much more than GGG, not to mention being a 15 round fighter, which is often overlooked and underappreciated.

        Weight(s) Middleweight
        Height 5 ft 9 1⁄2 in (177 cm)[1]
        Reach 75 in (191 cm)[1]
        Nationality American
        Born Marvin Nathaniel Hagler

        Gennady Golovkin By the Numbers
        Height: 5'10"
        Reach: 70 inches
        Weight: 160 pounds

These poor guys buy into the hype and get stuck up there trying to climb back down off the ledge.
he was shot soon as he wasnt in with Wade or some other no name...writing was on the wall to use the age excuse, if anything he is fresh from lack of grueling fights

Now that I have addressed "154-168" for the 154th to 168th time, Lara could have moved up to compete at 160 if he wanted but he chose not to, and that's fine.
Lara already made it clear he was gonna fight GGG at 160. No catchweight, straight up at his own weight class.

              What more do you want?

Don't get me wrong, I would have liked to see Golovkin-Lara as well. I also believe that Lara moving up and beating a top-10 guy at middlewight might have gone a long way in securing a GGG fight. It would have helped his case even more and probably made the fight even bigger.

Vanes Martirosyan didn't move up and beat a top 10 guy at middleweight yet GGG had no problem fighting him, did he?

Hell, Vanes' last fight prior to fighting Golovkin was actually a LOSS to Lara at 154 lbs.

Cotto was 26 when he fought Paulie Malinaggi. Canelo was 23 when he fought Floyd Mayweather Jr. Sergei Kovalev was 30 when he fought B-Hop. Conversely, GGG was a month away from 34 years old when he fought Danny Jacobs.

Well thats the conundrum you leave yourself in when you dont fight anyone good until your 30s.

All his best wins that werent close fights are B level fighters at best.

Would have helped his case even more?

You do realise that at the time Lara had a way better resume than GGG, was. Two belt champion, and had more credibility than any GGG opponent.

But you want him to prove himself a worthy candidate for GGG, the guy who was crying at the time about no one wanting to fight him?

You can't be serious. Are you actually serious?
