Can't complain about this one because Smith just lost and it's seemed for a while it was going to be one of those 2 getting the Canelo shot. But the gap between BJS and Canelo has gotten wider in recent years, Canelo's offence has improved so that I'm not so sure BJS is such a hard style matchup.

Canelo lands some smart eye-catching shots in the early rounds and then BJS has to play catch up which is really not his style. BJS is hard to pin down, catch clean but I think he goes behind early and stays that way

Feck it I'll weigh in and say that Saunders will give Clenelo a good run for his money

The big issue for me is that Ca$hnelo has been taught in the ways of hustling by the likes of other greasers like Mayweather and the Kitchen Utensil guy. He will take every advantage he can get. When you're up against people like this, it's difficult to win. Dammit, I'm no conspiracy theorist but we saw what happened in the first GGG fight. It will be impossible for Saunders to win a decision, and that's the only way he can win, since Canella has such a solid chin

Saunders was brought up proper. Jimmy Tibbs brought him on well, and he knows his trade. I can't see Saunders quitting, and he will definitely be up for the fight. It is what it is, though, to get a split decision, he'd need to win 12 rounds

Definitely going to be a fight to watch! I would suspect Canelo for the win, but not an easy win. I'm pretty pleased with how 2020 is shaing up so far!

And if I may, let me toss out a question here: how do you rate Saunders in relation to Canelo's 2019 opponents, Kovalez and Jacobs?

Billy Joe as even Canelo has admitted is a tricky fighter and Canelo respects him a fighter .I think Canelo will have his work cut out and maybe apart from the Golovkin fight will have his toughest fight for quite some while?

Thats sports for you.I think the true lovers of the sport though can appreciate a true fighter/technician when they one though.Hence ability never dies.

You have to give respect to Billy Joe as a fighter though. He's done some naughty things but everyone within reason deserves forgiveness.

I think its a tougher fight than the Kovalez fight given his age.I cant comment that much on Jacobs as I havent seen enough of him fight but by the sounds of it is a decent boxer and looks stronger than Billy but Billy has the better boxing ability? .Tough call to make.

Billy has been very guarded about saying it’s done. Only saying there’s talks but he doesn’t know much. But we know that’s basically how it goes with Canelo & Golden Boy, they do the announcements.

I’m pretty sure it’s on though. BJS is already training in Dubai, like he knows something. He’s also been talking about bringing Jimmy Tibbs into the team, he used to work with him and wants him there now to “Give something back” he said, which means he’s probably expecting a big payday..

Last time I actively rooted for Canelo was against Khan. Hopefully he lays BJS out flat just the same.

                      I think it’s a good fight.

Certainly Canelo’s trickiest fight in terms of style since Lara, maybe even more difficult because Billy is just as tricky on his day, but also a bigger man.

I think this is a real fight. Saunders can be hit and miss against poor opponents, but he’ll be up for this and styles make fights.

The truth is, if you had to pick a style that Canelo may struggle with, you would probably look at a very slippery southpaw with fast hands, great feet and also a strong unit at the weight.

Respect to Canelo if he takes it, because Saunders has the style to make him look bad. Canelo doesn’t need anyone to make money, and could’ve picked easier fights.
