Billy Joe Saunders v Canelo Alvarez

Just seen this on twitter from what seems a reputable source :

"The moment of destiny for BJ Saunders has arrived. The most skilful fighter in the UK has finally got his big fight. The task at hand is a monster and he has to overcome a future all time great! What an amazing challenge ahead. "

A mouthwatering fight for me and definitely worth paying and staying up for as I live in the UK.

I have Canelo edging it though due to that power of his?

Canelo by destruction. BJS will look to move the whole fight.

I knew Canelo would fight him next because he looked so lousy scoring his come from behind KO over a guy not even ranked in the top 40 in the world by boxrec. He owns a world title Canelo will almost certainly take from him in my opinion. I know he is a UK fighter and you like him but I just don't think he has been impressive in the past two years since he beat Lemieux in a good win. Canelo is at or near the top of all the top 10 pfp best lists but Saunders is not on anyone's top 10 pfp list.

If the oddsmakers over here treat BJS favourably which they tend to do with home fighters, I’m gonna put a large stake on Canelo via stoppage.

Lemieux’s style and lack of fundamentals made Saunders look a whole lot better than he actually is IMO. He’s a good fighter but not a great one.

I still feel though its going to be tricky fight for Canelo.Billy Joe is a decent boxer on his day .

Canelo has tremendous hand speed, He is also very accurate with his punches . He has quick feet and he is very hard to hit clean. plus he is very strong physically. It will be very tough for a boxer like BJS to win He is a very clever fighter but probably donest punch hard enough to deter Canelos adavnce. Canelo by wide decision like 10 rounds to 2 or at best 9 to 3.

Billy Joe Saunders like Tyson Fury both come from traveller community's and Iam sure that helps.Remember reading a book about the King of the Gypsies by Bartley Gorman and reading other stuff and speaking to people on their community.Their children as you maybe aware are schooled into the art of bare knuckle boxing from a very early age.Likewise machismo is a huge part of their culture.I spoke to a priest about them last year who had a lot of dealings with them.As a testament to their Catholic faith and machismo they went into a river in winter almost up to head height and were there motionless for a good while. The priest who witnessed this was deeply impressed with their mental reserve to cope with such arduous environments .He remembers them shivering and really struggling but not one in the group relented and stuck it out for the designated time period.
