Questions like this not being as easily answerable as they should be in this eras boxing is a shame. It's more interesting than this "4 weight division" championship guys who fought the 2nd to 4th best title holder in every division to win there belts types questions that many of us know from it being said over n over before, during & after ones fight.Comment

1. Canelo never said it was a 1 fight thing until he vacated.
2. How do you know that people didn't want SRL to face Virgil Hill?
If you're the champ at 175, you should be fighting other champs at 175. That's the whole point of boxing, no?
You shouldn't be winning belts in weight classes you have no intention to campaign in.
In a roundabout way, your argument is just a way of saying that Canelo was cherrypicking a weak opponent just to win a belt.Comment

Man you must really hate Canelo...😂😂1. Canelo never said it was a 1 fight thing until he vacated.

As a big GGG fan I don’t really like the guy myself but I always remain objective.
How can jumping up two weight divisions be a “cherry pick”??
C’mon bro that’s so delusional. Kovalev was on the slide but was still a legit world champion and credible opponent. He was also the biggest name at 175 which is why the fight made sense.
It evidently was a one fight thing...
Canelo’s post fight interview:
“After this the plan was to go back to 160, 168... but why not MAYBE 175 again. We have to do what’s best for us”.
Canelo is clearly suggesting his immediate future is not at 175 and him vacating the title confirms that. Do you genuinely think he is a natural light heavyweight and should be fighting at 175?
As for SRL, I know my 80’s boxing very well, and I’m pretty certain there was never any demand for Leonard to face Hill and rightly so. Feel free to try and archive some info that suggests otherwise but it genuinely is not there.Comment

Until we come to some forum wide consensus on some definition for what exactly we mean by 'ducking' conversations about it are beyond pointless.Comment

I didn't see any stipulation of the challenger having to be victorious but nobody seems to have mentioned Garcia moving up 2 classes to fight Spence? An argument could be made he's #2 in the division but still top 5'ish? P4P.Comment
