the #1 P4P at the moment is solely an opinion.. nothing more, between Mayweather, Wright, and Pacquiao...
Who should be P4P best Pac or Floyd?

I never understood what somebody's record, assuming they've proven anything, has to do with p4p status. Like, I seriously don't get it. The origin of p4p status was what fighter would beat who if everything was equal as weight and whatnot. Assuming Floyd's skills don't look diminished or any other fighter begins to look spectacular I don't see how it can change due to opposition.Comment

True, it is an opinion, you don't have to agree on whom you think is the p4p best, the list itself makes people acknowledge that a certain fighter is the p4p #1(which is an opinion), but if your favorite fighter is Pac, Hatton or Cotto(or whoever) & you believe that they're the p4p #1 well you have every right to think so. Personally I have Floyd, Wright, & Taylor as my top 3, Pacman's #4 because Morales proved that he can be beat by someone who can commit themselves to boxing, which is hard cause Pacman is great at luring you into a fight.Originally posted by restless_438the #1 P4P at the moment is solely an opinion.. nothing more, between Mayweather, Wright, and Pacquiao...Comment

I said may very well, I was just trying to support my argument that what is hard for Pac man aint necessarily hard for other fighters if they weighed the same. Im not saying they are C level fighters, but if Mosley, Wright, or Mayweather weighed the same as them, they might not be marquee fighters like they are now.Originally posted by adrsan84You have too high an opinion of those three fighters if you think they'll make Morales and Barrera look like C level fighters. Not to bash their skills because they are solid A level fighters but are you going to tell pound for pound Barrera and Morales are not as good as Jose Luis Castillo, Sam Soliman, and David Estrada who fought those three and not only looked competitive but in one case almost looked to win the fight.
there you go, they didnt even make those fighters look like c fighters and you're trying to say they would to 3 guys who are legends, though at this point past their prime.
by the way skill wise PBF is still #1, but if you factor in competition then it is definitely the Pac Man who has faced the better fighters.Comment

Also, Sam soliman fought a winky who wasnt his most healthiest, I believe he had some flulike symptoms that fight. Estrada did give Mosley some problems, cant argue that, but Castillo has his own greatness and P4P status and could just as well be a legend just like Barrera and Morales when he is done.Originally posted by adrsan84You have too high an opinion of those three fighters if you think they'll make Morales and Barrera look like C level fighters. Originally posted by Super_LightweightNo, p4p is not based solely on 'skills'. That's a weak argument for those that must have Floyd at number 1. If you fight C-level fighters and look skilled doing it, should you be p4p number 1 if someone else is beating B-level guys convincingly?
Floyd or Pac would be number one. Certainly Floyd's hold on the number one spot is tenuous. A win over Baldomir or Margarito will help though.
I hear what you saying, but we comparing 2 different fighters from 2 different weight classes. The c level fighters at Floyd's weight classes might be equivalent to b-level fighters at pac man weight classes. Floyd might make some fighters just appear to be c-level fighters but they are actually better, its just that Floyd is so good that he makes them look like they shouldnt even be in the ring with him. Pacman could very well make c level fighters look like B level fighters. How is that we really know? Is Floyd that good that he makes other look worst than what they are? Is pacman overrated and make c level fighters look like B level fighters? The best way to find out is to look at their skills and what they do and how they perform the sweet science. But i do understand what u r saying thats why P4P can only be proven if u reach beyond your limit and fight bigger people who have the same skills as u, and tahts whyi would like to see winky and Floyd fight.Comment

Na I cant agree with this! Sugar Ray Robinson fought and beat the best! Theres no denying that. Morales and Barrers may be a little past their best, but they ARE great fighters. I see were your coming from but the only potential great fighter Mayweather has beaten is Castillo and we all know how close that was. Im not saying he cant beat all the great fighters around. Im just saying he has'nt!Originally posted by cortdawg25P4P is based on skills though. It was based off Sugar Ray robinson. The theory is that if 2 fighters in different weight classes were to weigh the same, who would win? So it never was necessarily who fought the greater competition but who had the greater skills. Just think about it, whats hard for Pacman may be very easy for Floyd so u cant base that off on competition. Barrera and Morales may very well look like c level fighters if they fought the Wright,Mosley, and Mayweathers.Comment

I wouldn't give it to Pac... it's either Floyd or Winky. Sure Floyd hasn't fought the best competition but he is undefeated and has never really been tested even by "good" fighters like Judah. Pac did lose to Morales. But what I really think about is Pac and Floyd at the same weight. I think Floyd beats Pac no matter what weight they fight at from 130 up. I think it is much more questionable who wins a fight between Floyd and Winky at a similar weight.Comment
