Good post! That is the orginal basis of P4P.I have Floyd at #1,and Pacquiuo at # 3.Originally posted by cortdawg25P4P is based on skills though. It was based off Sugar Ray robinson. The theory is that if 2 fighters in different weight classes were to weigh the same, who would win? So it never was necessarily who fought the greater competition but who had the greater skills. Just think about it, whats hard for Pacman may be very easy for Floyd so u cant base that off on competition. Barrera and Morales may very well look like c level fighters if they fought the Wright,Mosley, and Mayweathers.Comment

You have too high an opinion of those three fighters if you think they'll make Morales and Barrera look like C level fighters. Not to bash their skills because they are solid A level fighters but are you going to tell pound for pound Barrera and Morales are not as good as Jose Luis Castillo, Sam Soliman, and David Estrada who fought those three and not only looked competitive but in one case almost looked to win the fight.Originally posted by cortdawg25P4P is based on skills though. there you go, they didnt even make those fighters look like c fighters and you're trying to say they would to 3 guys who are legends, though at this point past their prime.
by the way skill wise PBF is still #1, but if you factor in competition then it is definitely the Pac Man who has faced the better fighters.Comment

Good post NoFear24!!!! I have been saying this forever. Just because Floyd is the most skilled, if he doesn't do it against elite fighters it doesn't mean anything. I honestly feel that p4p list should go Winky, Pac, and than Floyd based on level of opposition. These two guys cosistantly take on elite competition and don't back down from anyone or make excuses for why they can't fight a guy.Originally posted by NoFear24Well if you put it that way, Judah just came off a lost and fought Mayweather and Mitchell was knocked out by Kostya zu a fight before fighting Mayweather.
Like I said, P4p shouldn't really be based on skill, its should be the fact that you want to prove your the best by taking on all comers and beating them. If pac wouldve lose most of those fights then ya Floyd would be number 1or2 and Winky number right there and Pac number 3 but Pac hasn't been losing. Hes actually been there with the best and its always a war when hes in there.Comment

No, p4p is not based solely on 'skills'. That's a weak argument for those that must have Floyd at number 1. If you fight C-level fighters and look skilled doing it, should you be p4p number 1 if someone else is beating B-level guys convincingly?
Floyd or Pac would be number one. Certainly Floyd's hold on the number one spot is tenuous. A win over Baldomir or Margarito will help though.Comment
