Can someone explain to me why fans are happy to play along with the broadcastor/promoter war?

Instead of always talking **** about one of them shouldn't we be pushing for PBC to be on DAZN there by giving us all the best names in boxing on an affordable platform? TR and ESPN would have to follow shortly I'd imagine. DAZN would become the streaming front for all the boxing channels.

ESPN, Fox, Showtime, they can still charge their 75 bucks a PPV for old'uns who won't stream. For us internet folk we ought to get the same fights cheaper as per the cheaper cost of streaming vs cable distribution.

I've not been able to work this into a convo so I made a thread. Not trying to start another PBC vs DAZN war, I really want to push the other direction.

Haymon, Hearn, De La Hoya, on one platform, for 20 bucks a month....goddamn steal. Warren/Arum would be coming along shortly and then who's left? Duva and Rybinski and such? They're types who tag onto bigger shows any damn way.

I’m down to pay $20 a month to watch every fight, that will kill ppv but how these fighters are getting paid it’s the only way we get fights these days smh. Can’t wait for this boxing format to crash soon

Also paying $75 for a ppv stream is ****, the promote is pocketing majority of that. When you pay $75 to your cable provider to show the fight they get a cut but when you stream it you still get taxed the same??

How are you bursting my bubble? Canelo clearly has proven himself a #1 P4P, currently holding world titles in three different divisions. Crawford is a very deserving #2, pulling off the rare feat of being undisputed in the four belt era.

I have no problem with Berchelt being above Wilder. Top heavyweights fighting each other is far less common than top fighters fighting each other in other weight divisions. Berchelt has earned his points and good for him.

I like to flip on the tv and watch my fight. I’m not broke like most on here, and don’t pay for Dazn because it was a crap service. It froze constantly.

I would rather pay $74.99 and watch the fight I want crystal clear.

Dazn is a shabby app.

I'm not sure why that should be a barrier to what the TS is suggesting. The fact that PBC may be tied to Fox (which is incidentally controlled by the Murdochs who are Australian) and SHO for a few years means that such a collaboration is unlikely in the short term, but there's no reason why not in the future. Money's international, man, major companies own assets all over the globe - **** the Chinese 'enemy' own something like $150 bil of US assets.

That said there's definitely a degree of pushback from the US boxing establishment, and it ain't a hard sell given the deep seated historical mistrust many US citizens feel towards the UK... I've said for a long time that DAZN would have been far better putting an American at the helm of their US arm.

Whichever way it goes some form of streaming service is here to stay and will probably gain an increasing share of all sports markets over the forthcoming years. DAZN have tried to get ahead of the curve in the US but only time will tell if they'll be successful. You're absolutely correct that there will be huge resistance from US competitors.

History has nothing to do with it; when Eddie Hearn first really came onto the scene stateside, he was moving just fine, tbh.

The issues came when he stepped out of line; rather than working in the mix, Hearn figured he could just bigfoot everyone, which was silly.

About as dumb as Haymon would be, simply showing up in the UK, thinking he's going to run things.

If they were all on one platform you'd be paying more than $20 a month for it.

And if they were all on one platform you wouldn't have the competition to drive up the purse to a point where the fight makes sense.

In fact, if they all ended up on one platform, someone would start another and start poaching!
