They let Arturo Gatti into the Hall of Fame so you might as well let anyone in now.

For example: I like Tim Bradley and consider him a pretty good little fighter. Is he Hall of Fame material, though? I would say no.

But wait...was he better than Gatti? Hell yes. So then that means he deserves to be in.

it's the hall of fame ballot, man, they will stay on that list for years and years and probably never make it in. look at the rest of the "fringe" names, some have been on there for decades

gatti is a special case. he's arguably the most exciting fighter ever. adn you're either being intentionally difficult or really just that clueless if you don't understand that and feel the need to compare his resume to tim bradley's like it means anything.

I agree with your post I had debates with posters about this before. Gatti had an exiting style in my opinion but he did nothing excelling.

that threw me for a loop as well

can you imagine having your parents literally name you and your brother like some kind of gimmick? and then your twin brother becomes a famous boxer and you can't win a single fight as a pro? that poor dude

A special case why? I'm sure Jorge Arce was considered very exciting by Mexicans but he doesn't belong in the Hall either.

I think Marquez and Hopkins are safe bets. Who else gets in this year is anyone's guess.

Special case? Who are you to change the criteria? Bradley is FAR more worthy than Gatti and I loved watching Gatti.

"very exciting" is a bit of an understatement for gatti's career though, don't you think?

                      Meldrick Taylor

Good article but in my humble opinion Wilfredo Vazquez, Sergio Martinez and some others in that list had a better career than Meldrick Taylor. Nothing against Meldrick...just an option.
