ok lets pretend that canelos money has nothing to do with the network, and that is just fight money, even then thats a guaranteed minimum
by dazn for canelo, which means is money he is going to get paid regardless of what the other fighters are getting...
For that sole reason no fighter should expect to get a slice from that, anyone coming at canelo demanding a slice of that money is going to get nothing but a middle finger, just like dervy did...
asking canelo for a part of his guarantee is clearly pricing out..
Look at it this way ... Canelo vs Dervyanchenko brings in many DAZN subs than GGG vs Dervyanchenko, but Dervyanchenko was offered the same fee for both fights.
That makes no sense unless GGG agreed to share part of his DAZN money with Dervyanchenko. Canelo could have done the same, and still been making far money than GGG for fighting the same guy, while retaining his IBF belt. If he won, of course.
I have to assume he wasn't sure he could win and that's why he settled for being stripped of his belt.Last edited by kafkod; 09-20-2019, 11:23 AM.Comment

Canelo is not going to share his guaranted minimum with anybody, let alone an unknown mando, anyone thinking this is going to happen is not being realistic... It will be just as unrealistic thinking that canelo will go to a purse bid, trying to get either is just being ****** and really throwing away the chances of making a fight..Last edited by icha; 09-20-2019, 01:55 PM.Comment

Sal "Canelo" lvarez is standing firm on his position that he's not interested in a third meeting with middleweight rival Gennady Golovkin. In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Canelo's promoter Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions had guaranteed that a third meeting with Golovkin would take place in May or September of 2020.

This fight was different because it was a mandatory defense, not an opponent chosen by Canelo. If you are saying that Canelo is so rich that he shouldn't have to bother with mando's, then fair enough, but that's a real fanboy point of view to be taking.

It’s Obvious that Canelo don’t want to lose to GGG anymore.
The truth is he lost both fights against G and wants NO MOREComment

They had the catchweight to cling on to as the main focus of their hate towards the fight. Now from my understanding the fight is at full 175 limit, so they have to shift their focus on some other aspect of Kovalev like age or inability to take too many punches to the body or mention how Canelo is scared to fight others like Gvozdyk, Beterbiev, Ramirez or Smith and wouldn’t step foot in the ring with them. It’s the same old thing but in the end of the day Canelo vs Kovalev is a good fight due to Kovalev’s size, power, experience, ability to box and also KO his opponent. We also know that Kovalev will be able to focus on training normally and not draining himself to under 175, which is something I would have given leeway to the critics but that’s gone. It’s a full on good, fair fight now.Comment
