GBP fund Canelo's fights with DAZN money, and it's up to them how much of that money they give to the opponent.
I believe the promoter, in this case, GB has other sources of revenue. Television rights in Mexico and perhaps other countries, sponsorships of various kinds such as beer companies, money from the venue (casino) plus money from attendance which in the case of Las Vegas can be considerable and so on. DAZN gets the exclusive right to stream, but that is only part, albeit a major part, of the picture.

Well Canelo can do what he wants , but this will a stain on his career that will never go away. Its a shame that Canelo will have "ducker" next to his name, because he really has fought some VERY tough comp, some he did not need to. But if he ducks out on a 3rd fight with GGG who is only getting older he will deserve it. The funny thing is I think he finally beats GGG if they fought now, but if he don't fight or waits much longer, it will be a stain that wont go away.

If not the entire $12million, the extra $6million must have come from Canelo's guarantee. No other explanation makes sense.
oscar is the promoter, he uses dazn money to negotiate, oscar wasnt going to offer the whole budget in the initial offer, is called negotiations...

A third fight with GGG has lost its luster. Golovkin has had 2 opportunities to knock Canelo out. In the second fight, he taunted Canelo to fight "Mexican Style. Canelo did and GGG got the worse of it for his trouble. Two fights is enough. Canelo needs to find other challenges and so does Golovkin.

If Canelo fights Golovkin and wins, people will say that he somehow ducked him until GGG was old. If Canelo beats Kovalev and continues winning he will be remembered long into the future. Golovkin has not covered himself with glory and unless he fights and beats the likes of Andrade, Charlo, Liam Smith or Bivol, he will be forgotten or a dim memory in the minds of the next generation of boxing fans.

That's exactly what I've been trying to tell you. Some of "Canelo's guarantee" goes to his opponent. How much is up to him and it depends on how much he wants to fight them.

Could not disagree more, he has yet to get a clear win, and most don't think he won either(1st GGG,2nd a draw). Also how is a fight with the two best 160pders lost its luster? It has yet to be proven who is the better 60pder and that is what boxing SHOULD be about. It seems like MOST(not saying you) that don't want to see the fight are Canelo fanboys who don't want to see their hero lose. So after getting a debatable dec in 2nd they just want him to stay away and keep bringing up 2nd fight like that was some kind of proof that Canelo is better. FTR I would pick Canelo to win a 3rd fight, but that's not how it should go, it NEEDS to be proved!!

Exactly, canelo looked good in the 2nd fight and landed some good counters but never hurt tripG and later in the fight canelo was gettin hurt himself, and how damaged one fighters face looks is irrelevant. What if tripG never gave him a fight after the first draw and kept his belts what would nelo fans be sayin? Soon as nelo got those belts in a close decision win he ran. Did pacman run after those competitive fights with marquez? No he went at it 4 times and even got knocked out for it, but he did it for the fans cause their four fights were competitive! But nelo got embarrased by his failed tests and took it personal that ggg camp called him out on it, cry baby, hope he gets stretches out by kov and get humbled, thinking he picking the weakest link in light heavy and claiming he a risk taker FOH.
