Promoters interest are always theirs, not the fighters they promote, not their managers, not the fight fans... no one but their own interests. Promoters would sign deals behind your back, hold some of your money away, hide the little things away from you etc. They would even make you turn down 100m dollars by saying it’s in your own best interest.

That’s why a fighter need to have his lawyers and manager separate from his/her promoter. When your promoter is in bed with your manager then you would be royally phucked. Because most boxers are not that business savvy. Look at Broner and his melt down on Haymon in the last few hours for example.

Why would Canelo be in on something he CLEARLY didn't want?

He stated how many times he didn't want to fight GGG again because of all the shit he talked? Then he said "Fine, get a belt at least - fight Andrade first."

GGG refused and continued to shit talk. Then Canelo said, "Nope, I am never fighting him now."

This is when DAZN conspired with GBP to have IBF strip Canelo and have Golovkin fight Derevychenko for the title, in a ploy to "force" Canelo to fight Golovkin in May.

Canelo is having none of it.

He would be in on it because he is getting what he wants. When he didn't want to fight GGG in May, he tested positive for PED's to delay the fight. When he didn't want to fight Charlo, he worked with the WBC to create the emeritus belt.

Why would I not think the cash cow and most powerful boxer in the sport would not be in on the decision making with his promoter on this?

GGG is washed up and apart from being overhyped at his prime, he didn’t beat anyone with a pulse.

A fair bit of the threads about it all have been made by MCC so they cant be trusted to be unbiased or factual in anyway, we all know his agenda.

Yea I'm bias but I post the stories and then give my opinion. If you see bias in the stories then you need to blame there writers not me.

I think the "beef" between ODH and Canelo is fake. There is no way Canelo didn't know the deal. Just like WBC press release indicated he was in on the "emeritus champion" discussion, he was in on this.

He doesn't want to fight GGG again. He doesn't want to fight Charlo. He wants to fight opponents that are easy to beat for the rest of his DAZN deal. DAZN obviously wants more **** for their buck.

And probably at a weight they can't compete.

This is a good summary of what has been reported. Just will add that it seems like all the leaks so far have been from the DAZN side with none really coming out from the GBP side. I only mention this because I think there is a really good chance that DAZN is not as helpless of a victim as these stories suggest.

This clown has been stuck at 160 forever and won’t move up. But he’ll gladly fight boxers 2-3 weight classes below him. He’s up there as one of the most overrated boxers in the last 20 years.
