    Caneo, DAZN, GBP soap opera.

Can somebody explain it to me please. What the hell is going on, what is all this about lawyers and contracts. It sounds like its all getting real messy.

I take it DAZN have one idea about the fighters they want Canelo facing and Team Canelo have other ideas but whats going on now between Canelo and GBP themselves? Is this where the lawyers come in to it.

A fair bit of the threads about it all have been made by MCC so they cant be trusted to be unbiased or factual in anyway, we all know his agenda.

A quick little summary: DAZN knew they couldn't put anything in fighter's contracts demanding fights with another fighter. So they went an alternative route to get by the Ali rule and made an agreement with GBP promising the trilogy for September. The problem here is that Canelo advised AGAINST this and told them not to do so. So DAZN was operating under the impression that the trilogy was going to happen in September since GBP agreed to it, but they agreed to something the fighter did not agree to. That started the problems between Canelo and GBP.

The whole issue exemplifies how promoters exploit boxers by getting them involved in things they're not interested in. The fighter's interest should always be paramount.

Also, GGG vs Canelo 3 isn't necessary and it's basically Canelo tagging along a washed up GGG and putting money in his pocket. So, I understand where Canelo is coming from since there's no love lost between the two. And GGG didn't help the issue by calling himself Canelo's boss.

Canelo is big enough to promote himself and he doesn't need both DAZN and GBP. I hope AJ learns from this saga and drop both Matchroom and DAZN after beating Ruiz in the rematch. There are other ways to maximise earnings than allow people dictate to you against your wishes.

        1. Golovkin is clearly making money without Canelo. He's set for life. Why can't Golovkin get revenge in a trilogy? Most people at least have them 1-1. Nothing wrong with having one more fight to (hopefully) settle their saga.
        2. Pretty sure he never said that.

When the champ loses his title on a razor thin home town split decision that the majority of neutral viewers thin he won a rematch is called for and it is THE Canelo fight most fans want to see. If GGG is washed up then Canelo is double washed up because most think he beat Canelo twice. He threw 700 punches to Canelo's 500 punches and landed 218 punches to 169 punches landed. He outlanded Canelo in 10 of the 12 rounds. That's for the 2nd fight. The numbers are even more one sided in GGG's favor in the first fight. It's only Canelo lovers and GGG haters who claim Canelo won clearly. Canelo won't fight him again for fear of losing and any other so called reason is BS.

BBB side never made more than $5 million and had a 97k PPV bomb before Canelo. The only reason DAZN offered him that big money deal was on the assumption of a 3rd Canelo fight. Canelo was making huge purses in the US and with Mexico TV money with or with out BBB side.

Canelo gets mad when he can't get away with murder

He got upset when he finally got called on creating his own weight at 155

He got upset when GGG opined that the positive clen tests weren't due to tainted meat

He got upset when the WBC mandated a fight between him and GGG the first time- so much that he gave up the belt and stopped dealing with the WBC altogether. They have finally kissed his ass so much that they have given him a title that he can't lose.

What other fight, aside from Charlo, are people asking for when it comes to Canelo besides GGG?

The fans want it - GGG clearly won the first time out, and the second fight was a better fight for Canelo but still razor close.

DAZN wants it - new subscribers and a mega fight

GBP wants it - it makes a lot of $$$

              GGG clearly wants it

              Canelo doesn't want it

This is a good summary of what has been reported. Just will add that it seems like all the leaks so far have been from the DAZN side with none really coming out from the GBP side. I only mention this because I think there is a really good chance that DAZN is not as helpless of a victim as these stories suggest.

The story so far has to have DAZN never once asking Canelo about a 3rd fight or who he would like to fight in the first couple years of the contract before signing him to a 10 fight 350 million deal. Or before signing ggg to a 15 mil per fight 6 figure deal. Or never once brought this up during off time during the promotional tour for the Jacobs fight.

I normally would not think its possible for this to be the case but DAZN has not exactly shown themselves to be competent.

I just get the feeling that DAZN knew that Canelo did not want this fight and that while Skipper and Oscar were doing lines Oscar told skipper don't worry he will talk him into it. And he figured if he put enough pressure Canelo would cave.

His point is that GGG is already set financially. He signed with DAZN hoping to get a fight w Canelo because of his competitive drive.

I think the "beef" between ODH and Canelo is fake. There is no way Canelo didn't know the deal. Just like WBC press release indicated he was in on the "emeritus champion" discussion, he was in on this.

He doesn't want to fight GGG again. He doesn't want to fight Charlo. He wants to fight opponents that are easy to beat for the rest of his DAZN deal. DAZN obviously wants more **** for their buck.
