Why would Cnelo be happy?
He took the Lara fight because it's a fight to get over with, then move on.
Glovkin was just another fight to get over with, win or lose.
He fought him the 2nd time with a heavy angry heart.
Somehow this Glovkin guy, who disappeared without a trace for one year,
became a new DAZN tenant, have the nerve to rearrange the landscape and furnitures.
Who would have thought the guy would follow him around like he's his daddy.
I'd be annoyed too.Comment

Rutkowski, a former HBO executive saod that he who put his name on it and said DAZN was close to 1M subscribers BEFORE the Jacobs fight. John Skipper before the Jacobs fight did a interview stating their goal was to pass 1M subscribers by June. And Bloomberg reported that as of July they have 1.2M subscribers. I believe what 3 have said and not duckTales that they only had 600K subscribers after the Jacobs fight.Comment

1M before Canelo-Jacobs is one of the most amazing things I've heard in a while.Rutkowski, a former HBO executive saod that he who put his name on it and said DAZN was close to 1M subscribers BEFORE the Jacobs fight. Unbelievable, that accomplishment has to rank #1 of all time for any streaming service
The pace DAZN is on, they may be able to top ESPN+ in subscription base VERY soon! All without having any rights to the NBA or NFL or UFC. Truly amazing.Comment

More believable since the CEO also said before the Jacobs fight the plan was to pass 1M subscribers by June and both seem pretty accurate since Bloomberg is reporting that by July they are now at 1.2M subscribers.1M before Canelo-Jacobs is one of the most amazing things I've heard in a while.

Yeah, it definitely does seem like there is trouble in paradise between Canelo and DAZN. I wouldn't be surprised at this point that they decide to terminate Alvarez and release him from his contract for rank insubordination and bucking against their authority.
Canelo is sitting down on DAZN's money. You know they are not in the slightest pleased with his rebelliousness and defiance. He doesn't supposed to fight when he wants too; He supposed to fight when his boss tells him who to fight.Comment

ESPN+ needs to watch out!!! If B and C level names are getting DAZN to close to a million subscribers before a Canelo fight, then imagine what they will do after he fights in December and after GGG fights in September.
I'm putting the over/under on 3 million subscribers by December of 2019. These dudes are rolling!!!!Comment

Here is the guy that asked Copp the questionI was told in an email that the 1.2M number was not true. And you can believe who you want, never said otherwise. Just telling you what I was told. Maybe someone can ask Coppinger in his chat Q&A about that 1.2M number.
As for never hearing Coppinger say that after the Canelo fight? Go to his June 11 Q&A on The Athletic:
That actually goes hand in hand with what Pugmire said after the Canelo/Jacobs fight.
Going from around 700k after the May Canelo fight to 1.2M in early July would be one hell of an accomplishment.......
I asked Copp on The Athletic's Boxing Q&A about that about a month ago. Below is what he's heard about it. pic.twitter.com/TzQYPM6WQ5

Keep in mind that Canelo-Jacobs was in May. So if it was 667K in May. Not sure what effect the AJ fight had, but not enough to get them to 1m. Obviously, GGG-Rolls wasn't going to move the needle much.

Common sense would tell anyone (bigdunny) that if DAZN hit that number they'd be yelling from the rooftops. They even admitted they're only going to release the good numbers. This would be a good number.Comment

When the question was asked by Kurt E, should have rung a bell in my head of who asked it lol. Here is the guy that asked Copp the question

But I contacted one of the writers of the article about this so let's see if he ever gets back to me and can provide something from where he got his numbers from.
I mean it is possible that Coppinger was WAY off and Pugmire was WAY off and they were truly close to a million before the Canelo-Jacobs fight. I mean think about it, boxing ratings are dropping on every network but DAZN somehow was able to build a HUGE subscription base up until May to the point they got close to a million subscribers off B and C level fighters, B level organization in Bellator and the MLB show. Mighty might impressive if you ask me!!!Comment
