It takes AJ 2 or 3 rounds to fully recover after getting buzzed. We saw that in the Whyte and Klitschko fights. Ruiz applied steady pressure and didn't give him a chance to to recover. But if AJ had been more disciplined after scoring that knock down, and hadn't got clipped himself, it would have been a different fight.
Perhaps, the outcome would have been different had he not tried to move him for the knockout. He got reckless and caught. Remember when Joshua dropped Ruiz it was done at mid range. AJ was not fighting at long range or even on the back foot at the time in the bout.

He squared up against Andy then dropped him. Then he went in to fight him at short range where he got reckless and countered by a left to the back of the ear on top of the head and he was never the same fighter again.

ESPN took a massive loss with Fury-Schwarz, the numbers were terrible. They want to get him in with Wilder to change that. I'm sure there'll be something in the contract where he takes a pay cut if he loses. So if he wins it they'll get a ratings bump for all Fury fight, if he loses they pay him less.

I have a feeling the rematch will be in the UK and AJ will win on points, maybe controversially, by boxing cautiously at long range like he did against Parker and clinching when Ruiz gets in close. I could be wrong of course, that's just my gut feeling.

It’s because AJ is signing with PBC. Top Rank and Dazn are both frozen out of HW picture now.
