I'm not defending Joe he knew Roy wasnt in his league anymore but I do defend Roy's honour at that time. He was still a somewhat good boxer by then and was capable of betting good opponents. I think the wins were good for him considering his age at the time yes, but that's really just putting it in perspective of his age. I admit I may be biased because I watched some of those live since I was too young to watch early Roy.

Walcott loses %26 of his fights. Who are the guys Archie, Jersey, Ezzard beat that makes them great opponents? And these top guys that they beat who did they beat? I know Archie lost to Patterson. He’s also fought the same guy six times. These guys all really could have been amazing but they did all lose to Rocky. My point is we know what we’ve heard and read but nobody has any real first hand data save the few fights on YouTube and even then we know less about the guys they are beating.
