This is an excerpt from his autobiography - 'No Ordinary Joe' published a year before they fought in 2007:

"I have no interest anymore in Roy Jones and no interest in Antonio Tarver. Jones is washed up and Tarver was never that good anyway. He just caught Jones when Jones was shot and Johnson did the same"

Again to suggest otherwise is embarrassing.
It was a decent win, you speak in superlatives and extremes too much. You're being too hyperbolic, calm down how you word things. Your main gripe comes from the fact that I believe Roy wasn't totally done after only losing to Johnson and Tarver and not saying he was shot to absolute pieces which I deem his post Danny Green era to be and not the short revival attempt beforehand where he got his last decent wins.

Wasn't shot to pieces quite like when he lost to any more than decent opponent late in his career. That's the Danny Green era.

Calzaghe is probably the 5th best guy to fight at 168. Ward, Froch, RJJ, Toney, rank ahead of him, possibly even Jean Pascal . David Benavidez could pass him up very soon too.
          - -Joe shamed Roy and Popkins and Wart/Froch just babies and Toney too fat and Benavidez?

          What grade you in son?

just a guess - the same number of years ahead of you that Hopkins was ahead of calzaghe?

Fair enough with ward, but froch was JC's first mando when he won kesslers titles, joe dumped them so that he didnt have to defend against him. SO dont start with the froch thing.

              this.

and joe repeating it on live tv too.

But then miracles from JC came about... Froch came up as his mando and joes was magically cured of his fear of flying, and roy suddenly became prime in JCs eyes again.

                    so not good wins now?

I'm curious now - Joe says roy was shot, so why bother trying to defend joe when he says you are wrong to defend him?

I'm not defending Joe he knew Roy wasnt in his league anymore but I do defend Roy's honour at that time. He was still a somewhat good boxer by then and was capable of betting good opponents. I think the wins were good for him considering his age at the time yes, but that's really just putting it in perspective of his age. I admit I may be biased because I watched some of those live since I was too young to watch early Roy.
