Good points, but it's not just the head-to-head for me. I look at that, the wins and losses and what they do in the ring. For me, I'm interested in how a fighter overcomes adversity. What do you do if a fighter is faster than you (Judah)? What if he's fast but stronger than you (Canelo)? Can you come back from being down early (Judah, Maidana)? Manny complained about being injured, so what happens if you get injured in the fight (stopped Augustus with 7 punch left hooks)? Then there is almost getting KO'd by Mosely. The other big thing for me is, if you go back and watch the full telecasts of the Mayweather fights from the 1st, he was considered a pucher and KO artist. That's how he was talked about him back then. So the biggest adversity was overcoming brittle hands. He had to adjust his game and win a different way. If you got speed and power like Manny throughout your career, that's great but what if something compromises one of those assets? Can you keep winning?

I actually agree with everything you just stated. Whoever went into that ring with Floyd, he figured them out and still one despite the circumstances surrounding those fights. The fights that got my attention were the early ones against Corrales and Castillo. It showed Floyd’s versatility and how he makes adjustments inside the ring. And then watching him later still win fights economically and strategically and not taking any punishment. Part of me thinks that it was Floyd’s hands that forced him to change his style but also he kept with that style the more people complained about it. It was almost like he said, ok, so they hate me more now, and really want someone to beat me so they don’t have to watch it, perfect! LOL!!!

And I mentioned in a previous post that for the record, I actually like Floyd better and have DVD tapes of all of his fights. I was just making the point on how some people or the boxing public may view potential wins by manny against the likes of Thurman, Spence, Porter, and Crawford. And you know what, I actually believe for some reason Manny can beat Thurman and Porter. I don’t believe he beats Crawford or Spence though.

That's a dangerous fight. I'd prefer Pacquiao to stay away from Spence because at the end of the day he doesn't need Spence. We all know Pac-Man has a cemented legacy. But if Manny does indeed share the same mindset as Roach (fighting the best otherwise retiring) than this only serves to prove how much of a game fighter Pacquiao is. If he takes a fight with Spence he really does believe that if you can't fight the best than you shouldn't be fighting. That's such a champion mentality. He's already doing that with Thurman. I'd rather see him face Mayweather again though. Get a major payday and retire.

Errol is enrolled in VADA so he will look the same as he always does. Without VADA/USADA testing, Manny gtes KO wins (Matthysse) with the VADA/USAD testing he gets 12 rd UD's (Broner).

Ok, I am asking because I saw a statement from them on this topic.

“Nevada State Athletic Commission is using VADA style testing for Manny Pacquiao’s fight with Keith Thurman,” Gibbons exclusively told World Boxing News.

“It should also be noted that Senator Pacquiao is enrolled in the World Boxing Council / Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA) 365 24/7 program,” he added.

No he is not. The same site that Spoon23 cited in his thread has an article from April 2018 where Manny was listed as one of the boxers taken out of the WBC ratings because he wasn't enrolled in the CBP.

As of the June 10, 2019 wbc rankings, Manny is not ranked-indicating he is not enrolled in the program as Gibbons said.

What is "VADA style testing"? Also, The WBN report does not indicate they were able to confirm this through another source.

Then Gibbons states Manny is enrolled in the "WBC clean boxing program" The article below, also from ***************.net, the same source as the TS uses for this article, written in April 2018, has Manny's name on the list of boxers per division who have been removed from the WBC ratings throughout the history of the program for failure to enroll in the WBC CBP.

All that changes if he beats Thurman! The casuals will be screaming for more Manny! The only question is "would Manny fight Spence?" The article says Pac came to see Mikey! I think if we get Garcia vs. Garcia (Please Jah), and Mikey wins, I could see Pacquiao going that way, and at 40, I wouldn't be mad at him! However, if he chooses Spence, no less than 750K in PPV sales, and no less than 50K at AT&T Stadium! Maybe even more if he fights Mikey @ AT&T?

Spence has never refused VADA/USADA testing like Manny has. That is why he gets the benefit of the doubt.

I like Floyd for the record. My wife gave me a collection of fights on DVD years ago and it was Floyd, Roy Jones, Bhop, Sugar Ray Leonard, Tyson, and Ali

Now I am a huge fan of basketball also. There is a segment who believes Lebron is better than MJ right now looking at both of their careers and almost every factor you would use to weigh both of them. But I am with MJ all day. I think he is the goat, some people disagree just like they will with Manny and Floyd. I think Floyd’s better. I guess the point I was making if I use your analogy. It would be like Lebron beating the Warriors in their prime last year with his new Lakers team without the addition of Anthony Davis. Or Lebron beating that warriors team the year before with the average players he had on the cavs before he went to the lakers. Kyrie Irving was on the Celtics that year and Lebron only had Kevin Love. So some people would justify with (2) more titles and the teams Lebron won them with would have said 5-3 in finals is better than MJ’s 6-0. Like I said earlier, some people actually have the nerve to say today that 3-5 LJ is better than 6-0 MJ.

In your analogy, LeBron would be accomplishing something extraordinary to pass MJ. I can understand that. My point is even at age 40 , is beating Kieth Thurman extraordinary? IMO it is not.

On the other hand, beating Crawford or Spence would most likely be considered that.

What NSB does is lower the bar for Manny because collectively we don't like Floyd. That is why IMO we have so many fans posting that beating Thurman at age 40 elevates Manny. I haven't even mentioned his performance against Canelo at 36 years old.

There is a desperate attempt to make Floyd higher because he always is ranked ahead of Manny on every credible rankings of ATG fighters-and that was before he beat him.

Basically there is nothing Manny can do to elevate past Floyd. And that isn't a knock on Manny. At some point, like Floyd or hate him, he has earned his spot. Manny jhas earned his as well, it's just lower than Floyd's.
