The pressure is on Hearn to deliver, especially now that De La Hoya has delivered with Canelo and he has at least two more big fights. Time is ticking for Hearn, hence he rushed Josh to the US.

Truth be told, all Matchroom’s bouts in the US thus far have performed woefully. He needs Josh to save him.
The fight results, with the exception of Callum Smith's fight, were horrible for Matchroom, but the show was great IMO. It was probably a fair criticism to call the show a bunch of mismatches on paper, but I was entertained all night and DAZN hasn't had ever had more buzz about a show, so I don't think that Eddie's neck is on any kind of chopping block. The AJ-Ruiz rematch will be even bigger. I'm a DAZN subscriber and I am more than happy with my purchase. My chief complaint thus far would be the announcer team, but oh well, nothing's perfect.

Now they have got something big they can ride into 2020.

Just look at how Josh was acting the whole week like he knew something was up. He has never given his belts to no one during press conference, why give it to Ruiz to pose for a picture? Then Josh came out dull and lethargic jabbing with his left arm down, throwing paws, something he never does until he has established his range and has his opponents number. He doesn’t have the best chin in the world but he has a very good chin and his recovery has never been that poor in his career. He recovers after 2rds max and whilst recovering he always go back to boxing. I didn’t even see any big shot like that in the fight, even Povetkin caught Josh with like two proper big shots and he dusted them off.

I won’t be surprised if Katie Taylor’s rematch is also on the same card. The Belgium girl was on some type of steroids because no one fights like a zombie like that coming forward for 10rds without getting tired.

I’m sure they probably offered Ruiz a similar deal in terms of rematch but he was in a much lesser position so wouldn’t have turned it down.
I suspect you are right. What ever the rematch $ are they will still be substantial from Ruiz's point of view. If he again beats Joshua or even has a good showing, he can start to build some real wealth. I'm pulling for him.

Ruiz' got a great beard, it seems, but so does Wilder, so I think Ruiz would just eat too much leather and get hospitalized by the end of it. Style and size-wise, I think Ruiz would struggle greatly with Fury too. I'd still root for him in both fights though.
I agree. Wilder is not as stiff and robotic as AJ. He is pretty fast and flexible himself and is also more athletic with no stamina issues.

In addition, no fighter could just square up against Deontay Wilder erect, without moving their head and expect it not to get knocked off. It's too dangerous.

The man hits too hard. Wilder will just drop that equalizing right hand on them at will and Adam Kownacki and Andy Ruiz, Jr would be no exception.

Some adjustments by AJ he can win the fight. It will be a boring fight. He will stay away and hold when he comes in. Ruiz is brave but he found himself on the floor in one sequence so there is danger coming in to reckless.

Could be a blessing in disguise for DAZN. The rematch will have a lot of mainstream interest and the Mexican fight fans will come out in for to support Ruiz. AJ wins his titles back and Ruiz gets some nice DAZN paydays down the line.
Planning on attending a fight in Vegas this year. If I don’t go to Canelo’s next fight this one may be an option.

Plus ruiz will have a full camp and even more confidence. And the pressure is heightened for aj to perform in rematch he needs a year off. Looks mentally shot to me. Pressure got to him Saturday.
How is Joshua winning a rematch by decision? Simple answer is biased judges and a biased referee. Joshua doesn't have to actually win he just hast to show up and finish on his feet.
