I have found that unless someone has been in a situation where traumatic forces gained a foothold, it is hard to imagine what happens when someone takes a bona fide beating. It is not just an athletic event but something that can imprint and cause all kinds of trauma. Recognizing when this occurs is also something that takes a bit of understanding.

Ward and Gatti: very physical series, a lot of blood and pain but not traumatic inducing for either guy... Lennox Lewis getting sparked out twice, embarrasing but again, not really a traumatic event.

Left Hook Lacy against Calzaghe....traumatic and career ending fight. Whatever Lacy needed to do to improve was never going to get him past that fight. Joshua sustained a lot of emotional, physical trauma. I hope he can find a response to this but it was a real beating and it was sad because I don;t think even the best intentioned trainer could forsee the developments that happened when Joshua fell off the reservation.

      • I'm glad for the rematch. Joshua is a limited fighter, but he also has strengths. It's possible he just had a really "off" night. It happens. And obviously, Ruiz is a much better fighter than his physique would indicate.

As Joshua said himself, and as we saw ourselves, AJ never recovered from that hook shot. He was confused in the corner and asked his trainer, "why am I feeling this way?", etc. No doubt, in the rematch his goal will be to box, to jab, to use straight 1-2s, to keep his distance, and for heaven's sake don't start swinging, trading, and eating hard shots. But strategy is always easier said than done, especially against an opponent like Ruiz who combines patience and intelligence with tremendous ferocity, and who knows how to choose his moments of attack. (What a great job he did!)

Now now don’t have sour g****s just because your man got his ass whooped by a Mexican American who took the fight on five weeks notice. Ha ha ha ha. Think of all the names you have called wilder on this board and it turns out your man is the bum. It just goes to show that you are not a true boxing fan. You have had AJ’s **** in your mouth for such a long time and now he gets his ass handed to him you’re calling him names but that is typical Boksfan. I am actually surprised you are still alive .i would have thought for sure you would have ended it all after a Aj embarrassing performance. Hahaha .You are more of a scumbag low life than I ever thought . Did I mention Aj got his ass handed to him by a chubby. Mexican American. Ahahaha ahahahaha ahahahaha. Maybe Aj can sign with the WWE., I hear they are looking for jobbers. Ahahahaha. Ahahahaha, ahahahaha.

                • joshua is still concussed and in no position to make this decision with a clear head
eddie still putting money reasons over boxing, which is why aj ended up in this position in the first place
joshuas career is over if he loses again and you wouldn't bet against ruiz to do it again

Lennox was frozen out by McCall because he was upset about comments he made when he said "I was robbed" after the ref waived the fight off. There was no rematch clause as McCall was mandatory. So that wasn't the fault of Lewis. Lennox however made sure to have a rematch clause against voluntary Rahman.

With Wlad, Sanders dropped the WBO title and fought instead his brother for the WBC title. Wlad would then go on the fight for the vacant title against Brewster. When Sanders dropped the belt, I think Wlad saw little reason to chase a rematch with no title on the line.

Tyson however never rematched Douglas for what ever reason. Douglas wasn't a mandatory if I remember correctly so I could see no reason for it not to happen other than Tyson not wanting it so soon.

You've proven nothing but ******ity. Lennox couldn't rematch McCall because he was mandatory. McCall refused him the rematch because of comments after the fight saying he was robbed as the ref waived it off unfairly.

Lennox however did have a rematch clause against Rahman because it was a voluntary.

Don't speak unless you know what you're talking about. Which means don't speak at all. You know nothing. Especially after your "Wilder being Lineal" comments.
