That’s part of the issue, discussing what Joshua needs to do for the rematch with my friends, we almost came to the conclusion that he needs to learn how to box 😂

Sounds silly for a world champ, but his fundamentals seemed to be so lacking and for such a big man he does not fight tall at all.

I suggested he needs to ask Wlad for some tips, learn how to fight behind a jab like he did post the Sanders KO!

Didnt really get beat up. He got jumped on in the 3rd and the final round, about it. When he didnt fall into ruiz to let ruiz combo on him even while fighting lazily(he clearly didnt want to be there anymore after the 3rd, and it didnt have anything to do with stamina) he was easily outboxing ruiz just by keeping him at range.

People think a fighter is brave for just standing there and takingg a beating, but that is really easy. Real bravery is actually trying to win. Joshua was folding, he wasnt in the mood to put in the effort to win for whatever reason.

I always figured that was the eventual path for Joshua. Develop the jab, clinch and one two. But he often fights like the smaller man - very odd. Think how Fury would have approached Ruiz - can’t imagine Ruiz would lay a glove on him. Every time he used his speed he’d be tied up and wrestled around the ring.

Performance anxiety is an interesting thought and would make a lot of sense given his struggles since becoming the man. Sack the sports psychologist in that case!

i think they're linked though, mental fatigue can lead to physical fatigue aswell. He wasn't right in the mind, what he was saying, how he was moving. There was even a point in this fight where his hands were completely down, taunting Ruiz but still staying in range to be caught with shots.

Lol, my bro sounded like he wanted to cry watching it. I can take a bad performance but it was like AJ forgot everything. Asking his trainer what shots hit him, what he hit Ruiz with, what will Ruiz do. He forgot basic boxing fundamentals it was so alarming.

In a rematch, he needs to learn to tie up, work on his jab and not exchange or trade unless he KNOWS Ruiz is hurt. He was so eager to get outta NYC that as soon as he dropped Pete Griffin he just abandoned boxing common sense and paid the price for it.

I disagree David Haye at one point was nearly as big in terms of following, only difference is? David Haye was not politically correct and for me 'Devalued the mainstream fans' Anthony Joshua care's too much about the casual fans, who 70% of them now will probably slate him 'David Haye was undisputed cruiser weight champion and world heavyweight champion' still only two men have achieve such a feat, other fighter being Evander Holyfield.

The Hayemaker to his credit, ended his career like a warrior he went until there was no more left 'Body breaking down' there is something beautiful/honorable about that.

So true. Every time Joshua hit the canvas and got up with that silly smirk on his face its exactly the same smirk I use in the club when I ask for a Girls number and she says “no fu#ck off” you don’t know what the fu#ck to do but smile at anyone and everyone to let people know you are ok
