Hearn will most likely get his way with the re-match in London pencilled in for Nov/Dec.
Of course, he`ll do what he can as his promotor to stack the chips in AJ`s favour but he can`t fight for him.
Ruiz has his number. Like many on here, I think there is more to AJ`s weak performance than meets the eye. Whatever the cause, there is something and I suspect it was present long before the ring walk.
Perhaps sparring story, perhaps a health issue, PED Cycle, personal life, a combination of different factors.
But there is something just plain odd about what went down at the MSG. There's a mystery to this as many have posted and thought.Comment

... Just after the 1st round, AJ asked his coach: "What should I do now?"...Before the fight took place, former two division champion David Haye gave Andy Ruiz absolutely not chance of victory in the anticipated contest with unified champion Anthony Joshua. On Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Ruiz pulled off one of the biggest upset in boxing history when he dropped Joshua four times before the contest was waved off in the seventh round.

End of round 1 AJ asked Rob McCracken: “What should I do now?”
End of the 2nd “Shall I take centre ring?”
Perhaps that’s why he brought a psychologist into camp, from the very beginning AJ sounded like a man very low on confidence

I've been saying Joshua's chin is terrible for ages. Joshua *himself* confirmed he was knocked down by David Price, and Daniel Dubois *himself* confirmed that he knocked AJ down in sparring. Also Whyte knocked him down in their first fight before the pros.
I think Andy Ruiz had the attributes to beat him and AJ fought a reckless fight considering he had a massive reach advantage. Also Joshua has terrible recovery from being stunned - it takes him a few rounds to get his head back. We saw it in the Whyte and Klitrshcko fights but neither of them could jump on him straight after they hurt him.
AJ doesn't have as much power as people think. People who have fought him say he has a very hard left jab but his right hand punch is average.
I still think AJ is a good boxer but I can't think of any top-level heayweight who was successful with a poor chin. Maybe Wlad but he introduced that hug and smother style after he got Ko'd badly. Aj does train hard and lives the life but when you've got a poor chin, and poor recovery, what can you do? If Ali had that chin he would have lost half his fights.Comment

That doesn't mean anything. Just means what they had planned to do wasn't working that well against Ruiz. Check his other fights and see what he says in those to his coach. He probably says the same kind of things.... Just after the 1st round, AJ asked his coach: "What should I do now?"...

As much as I’d hate to see the Wlad era return, I think that’s the style for Joshua to be successful and am surprised he doesn’t fight similarly already. He’s got the frame and weight for a long jab, hold people, put your weight on them and wear them down... wait for an opening for a right hand. That would’ve been the blueprint for the Ruiz fight for me.I've been saying Joshua's chin is terrible for ages. 85/15 split before PPV revenue. Sounds like the type of contract that every other HW has turned down hahaIf it ain't in the contract to fight in the UK, it will probably be like:- Fight AJ in the UK for 60/40+
- Fight AJ anywhere else for 75/25 or 80/20 ish
Apparently Ruiz got £5 million for Saturday night, while AJ got £20-25 million, plus some kinda proceeds from the PPV revenue. So that is less than 80/20 and is only gonna get worse once the PPV money comes in.Comment

I think he also made a mistake fighting Bellew. Haye's big advantage in the heavyweight division was his speed and movement. Fighting someone coming up from Cruiser just gave away those advantages. Should have stuck to fighting the bigger guys.
Reminds me of Fury when he fought Cunningham. Except Fury got away with it.Comment
