13K isn't bad at the Barclays. Most of their marquee fights do around that number.

For context at the time of Thurman vs Porter, here were the biggest gates at the Barclays.

BoxRec lists 18 shows that have taken place at the arena in Brooklyn since 2012. Thurman-Porter had an announced attendance of 12,718, surpassing the announced attendance of 12,668 for Deontay Wilder vs. Artur Szpilka earlier this year.

The record-holder is Danny Garcia vs. Zab Judah, which had an announced attendance of 13,048.

Very disappointing given Wilder's star-status.

Time to diagnose what went wrong.

Was that fight never going to do good numbers? Did the promotion stink? Or did the fight actually have hype, and the promoters made a mistake in closing the upper level?

Quit nitpicking; 13,181 is not a bad number. That's just less than a thousand people fewer in attendance that were in attendance the last time he fought at the Barclays Center in 2018 against Luis Ortiz; Where he drew more than 14,069. That's only less than 900 tickets sold than before.

Live gate numbers are public records, anyone can request them from the commission. The actual company will rarely ever release the numbers....Since they know anyone can get their hands on the reports.

Most people don't know how to go about getting these figures, but top promoters ALWAYS release these figures themself to the media and public when they do well. If PBC sold 13K tickets (which we all know they didn't) they and Barclays would be screaming the live gate figures. they haven't and if you look at PBC's history when the live gates do leak by other reporters they show a pattern of literally giving away free tickets at exaggerated rates. The Hurd fight was the last big fight from PBC and MMA Payout proved that got little money from ticket sales and MORE then half the attendance were given free tickets. Wilder fight was doing HORRIBLE ticket sales according to ticketmaster up until the doors opened and they stopped selling tickets online. Then they damn near double the attendance from those ticket sales in a couple hours later after the card already started. That's not ticket sales they just gave away all those tickets they couldn't sell

They didn't sell less then 900 tickets. They didn't come anywhere near selling 13,000 tickets (which isn't even a great attendance to start with). Look what percent of the attendance actually paid for the last PBC fight with Hurd.

MMA Payout has obtained from the Commonwealth of ******ia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation the attendance, gate and payouts from the PBC on Fox event at the Eaglebank Arena in Fairfax.

The main card which aired on Fox and took place at the Eaglebank Arena in Fairfax drew a gate of $283,941.25 with 6,713 in attendance. Of the attendance, 2,850 paid while there were 3,863 comps. Of the tickets sold, 675 were purchased via discount.

They might of sold HALF the amount of the 13K attendance. probably gave away at minimum 5K tickets for free maybe more.

The Spence/Garcia card did 4.7M in live gate and the numbers were not released by anyone. I had to get them from the Texas Commission. So I don't think that is it. The Pacquiao/Broner live gate was over 6M and not released until MONTHS after from Jed I Goodman who got them from the commission. These are two cards where the numbers were good and not released.

So which promoter releases numbers on the regular?
