You can call it lineal if you want, but in a lot of cases the best guy didn't even have the lineal title so the title itself is not that important...

How would we even tell who the best in the division is?

Their is no one title per division its four and Lineal is also not a great way since that could also become murky.

It's either determined by lineal status or if lineal is vacant then the guy who is perceived as the consensus top guy at the weight.

Fact is, the pacman didn't beat the top guy at 135, 147 and 154

I'm consistent. I don't consider Floyd a 5 division champ because he didn't beat the top guy at 140.
Yeah but for better or worse that's the way it's done now. There are so many sanctioning bodies, divisions and multiple title holders in each division it's easier to get a title. Then throw in catchweight fights which for titles are a joke and it gets crazy. Then on the flip side, in the past was the title holder always the best guy in the division. Maybe it's someone ranked in the top five who never had a crack at the title. The whole concept presently is a marketing gimmick IMO.

Floyd didn't even beat a single top prime fighter. lmao.

Floyd needs to be a champion at 160,168 and 175 to match pac 8 divisiln champion.

                      Hmmm this is interesting
put it this way brah, when it's all said and done, it will read that manny is an 8x division world champ. if you like it or not. just like how there's robbery in fights where the fans feel the other guy should have won...

but guess what? it doesnt matter because when you look at the record, it'll show that he loss that fight even though fans feel it's a robbery. you get my drift here?
