Isn't he doing what the contract says though? The contract says come in at 170 on the second day weigh-in or pay money. He is paying the money. He chose the option that was best for him. The contract gave him the option.

If the contract just said 170 max with no provisions for being over, I would agree with you. Jacobs didn't promise to come in at or below 170 on the second day weigh in, he promised to pay 250k per pound if he came in over 170.

Jabjab hater will never learn, like most haters they use it as fuel.
The fact that the amount was such a miniscule trace amount means he couldn't possibly have intentionally ingested it. That makes no sense considering he was in middle of 2nd straight fight of yr rd vada. People are so naive as to think hed try to cheat with clen of all weak ass substances. What a coincidence that its the exact weak ass drug that even in large dosages does jack sht. Its the exact drug countless athletes with proven track records have tested positive for when traveling through mexico in sports where it has ZERO benefits at ANY dosages.Clen is used in cattle because humans lack beta receptors of cattle so are mostly entirely unaffected by it. I know these things since far before canelo & ive ALWAYS said it was bs that vada doesn't ban fighters in mexico of eating meat yet count it as a failed test despite letting fighters miss testing an entire week like charlos both did & refused to answer phones.
Can't believe how pathetic Canelo fans are that they not only want to deny he cheated, but say that clen doesn't serve benefit. 1. Canelo fought in early Sept and knew he wouldn't be fighting again until may of the following yr. That gave him about 4-5 months to use clen or whatever he wanted and cycle off as the new yr approached just in time for what his first test would be (which was usually match for his may fights). They announced the ggg rematch and Canelo was tested in February for the first time and for the first time they went to Mexico to test him. Coincidence that it's the 1st time that happened and he suddenly tests positive?? Don't be a gullible fool. He could've been using for months and then slowed up which is why trace amounts were found. Hair tests are not reliable. Even the scientists who conducted the test in Canelo said so. 2. Clen helps with weigh loss and stamina (it's used to treat people with asthma because it helps with the lungs and breathing). Are those not things that help a boxer??? Gtfoh

          • If the clause is so dignified why was DLH swearing this morning that it had nothing to do with Golden Boy that it was the IBF that insisted upon having a dehydration clause and not them?

            • Canelo's team f***ed up, they should have stated in the contract that Jacobs was not to weigh over 170 pounds or the fight was off, instead they allowed him to pay a fine for the extra weight.
The plan was always for Jacobs to come in overweight and be much stronger on fight night.
It's a bit of a gamble but if he wins/draws or loses a highly controversial decision it will be more than worth the 1 million fine he had to pay today.

                    Yeah, right.
Like they would walk out of a fight 12 hours before it starts.

Please. It's still Canelo's promotion and he still gets the judges.
