This isn't hard. The rehydration clause actually ALLOWS for Jacobs to come in over 170. There was a monetary attachment to it because DLH and Alvarez were leery of Jacobs being at full strength as the naturally bigger man.

Rehydration clauses have diddly to do with competition rules so calling Jacobs a cheat or a dirtbag is ignorant at best. Its not like Alvarez didn't prepare for it. They just wanted Jacobs to not be at peak condition. Like asking for a 164 catchweight for a 168 guy.

If I was a betting man, I'd say DLH forfeited the monetary gain from Jacobs being 173 by going public.

I like both fighters, I was pulling for Jacobs because he is the underdog but thats all out of the window now.

Jacobs is disrespecting the sport, and Canelo.

If you agree to a certain weight clause, and the other guy busts his a$$ to make the limit, only for you to blow it off, that's BS.

I am def not pulling for Jacobs tonight, I don't care if we are from the same country, Canelo and the fans deserve better than this.

After of the fight with Canelo. He only had a good rival (Jacobs).

Golovkin never took a lot of punishment before the fights with Nelo.

He looked strong, and was top-3 in p4p list.

Thrown the same amount of punches than the fight against Murray.

Honor is when you do what you say you're going to do. The contract gives him the option to come in over 170 right? He made 160 yesterday.

Tell me, what is your take on the presence of the weight provision being in the contract. It's not normal for fights between two guys who fight in the same division.
