LAS VEGAS Eddie Hearn wasn't kidding. Daniel Jacobs' promoter suggested Wednesday that Jacobs could ignore the 170-pound limit for his second-day weigh-in the morning of his fight against Canelo Alvarez. The steep penalty $250,000 per pound over 170 was thought to be prohibitive, but Hearn clarified that weighing over 170 pounds Saturday morning wouldn't cost Jacobs his IBF middleweight or prevent the fight from happening.

You think draining is an advantage ? LOL

Canelo also fought at 147 when he was definitely a 154 pounder .
Canelo is also the king of catchweight title fights .
He has had more catchweight title fights than anyone ever .

Making Jacobs sign a rehydration clause is a pu$$Y move.
Specially that Canelo and Oscar are already talking about going up to 169 AND AND 175.

But, I don't expect you to see the light .
Canelo fought in 147 when he was like 20 years old

              Hahahaha.

Canelo never paid 1 million to have more weight than his rival

              Thats a disgusting movement

                Please.
The judges know who the $300M man is.
They want to be called upon in his next fights too.
IF DJ opts to box Nelo, he doesn't deserve to win. Can't be any simpler.

Trust me, if a promoter is out to get free money and have a good idea that money is assured, they would have made the penalty notable.

The better man will win and it won't be because of weight.
That's very true but the IBF is the only sanctioning body that does this same day weigh in. All the other sanction bodies do not. Also, you are right. Oscar could have penalized Jacobs a $mil for each pound he was over but that would have been a deal breaker. If that would have been the case, then chances are Jacobs probably wouldn't have taken the fight in the first place.

However, I agree that this fight isn't going to come down to weight but to will and skill. I think this is the right time for Jacobs because Canelo could still be emotionally drained from the Golovkin rematch; To the point where he takes his foot off the accelerator and loses focus due to being overconfident.
