I agree. Moreover, there is a small price for him to pay in terms of money because of it. However, Jacobs has his eyes set on the bigger prize and that is defeating Canelo Alvarez for the unified Middleweight championship of the world. Therefore, the trade off is more than worth the fines.Comment

When Jacobs fought GGG the IBF rule existed and Jacobs agreed to fight for the IBF belt and everyone thought he would play by the official rules.
Jacobs didnt play by the rules and came in much heavier than GGG, so even if he won he would have not won the IBF belt.
Now these rules do not exist anymore when there are multiple belts on the line, the rule basically got changed because Jacobs abused the rules and was so much bigger than GGG.
Now all that we have is a special A side Diva clause in the contract requested by Canelo and Golden Boy to weaken/drain Jacobs.
The IBF belt is still on the line for Jacobs.
That was a big win for boxing right here, fuck the Divas, fuck the A sides.Comment

Trust me, if a promoter is out to get free money and have a good idea that money is assured, they would have made the penalty notable.
The better man will win and it won't be because of weight.Comment
