Because DAZN is failing they upped it to $20 per month.

Now that they signed GGG, the fan has to pay $80 per year (assumming they both fight twice a year and you cancel on the off months).

PBC has plenty of good fights and all you need is Showtime to see them all.

I really think dazn should have gone with a network option. You can’t build boxing up and build boxing stars on an app that no one has. Canelo, ggg, wilder (since he was offered a hefty contract) were built on cable and free tv. We are all going to see how Devin Haney while ultra talented will not become a mainstream sports star via dazn
They just did some kind of deal where they have access to digital rights for a ton of networks. My guess is they eventually will work a deal where the fights will be available on maybe like an NBCsports or something.

If you make fights available on streaming services and networks you cover all the bases.

Canelo was doing 1M PPV buys but outside him the last 3 PPVs in the sport combined did less then 1M PPVs. And laughing at someone saying we need to hold on to PPV because how else will those fights with top rival networks get made? We aren't getting those fights anyway. What's the last PPV fight that got made with the top guy from rival networks? What Floyd/Pacman? Before that what Lewis/Tyson? Instead these are the fights that are being made where fans are being forced to pay almost 100 bucks a PPV

        ESPN PPV - Crawford/Khan
        FOX PPV - Spence/Garcia
        Showtime PPV - Pacquaio/Broner

combined none did Canelo numbers and none of these fights were ones fans demanded or asked for, all were massive mismatches on paper, and all ended up playing out as pointless mismatched fights. Those are the fights that are going to PPV these days because Networks don't want to pay the fighters so they are passing the bill to fans. Meanwhile Canelo the last true PPV star in the biggest fight of the year against a top guy in a true 50/50 fight that fans actually demanded is going to cost you 19.99 for 1 month subscription where you get the Canelo fight and Joshua and other fights for that month. Or cost you roughly the price of 1 PPV and you get all the fights on DAZN for the next 12 months including at minimum 2 Canelo fights, 2 GGG fight, 2 Joshua fights and all the other world champs DAZN currently has.

If you a boxing fan you just paid almost 300 bucks on PPVs this year alone not including all the money you paid to get ESPN, Showtime, FS1, ESPN+ and then had to pay close to 300 bucks on top of that? Or 99 bucks a year for more boxing content then any of the other boxing networks are providing? If you a boxing fan and hating on DAZN and screaming no please keep charging me almost 100 bucks for Crawford/Khan and Spence/Garcia you have an agenda and aren't a boxing fan.
PPV is THE only way we get Wilder vs Fury and Spence vs Crawford. It could even be just on one network PPV, but it isn't happening without PPV. If you are to send one of your stars to another network even without Co-PPV, that fighter will have to get a huge payday or else it's not happening.

You could say the last three PPVs did less than one Canelo PPV, that much is true. But there are plenty of PPVs Canelo did that did not get close to the million mark. Both Wilder/Fury and Spence/Garcia surpassed the 300k mark in their PPV debuts, which is on par with other star fighters making their PPV debuts. Eventually the PPV model may change, but it could be the way of taking out cable distributors and then being able to lower the price point. Only a matter of time until TR PPVs go to ESPN+ and same with potentially FOX PPVs going to their app...I mean they already tried screwing me by telling me the only way to buy Spence/Garcia is through the FOX Go App.

DAZN's value of full year service for $99 bucks is great value. But to say if you're a boxing fan and paid almost $300 bucks for PPVs? That obviously isn't true....Since a fan isn't going to buy every PPV, unless you are someone like myself. Fans will like always pick and choose which PPVs they want to purchase. And looking at the buys, not a lot of boxing fans did buy those PPVs.

failing they at almost 1M subscribers and when people say they upped their price it's misleading. They upped their price for monthly to stop fans from just paying 9.99 for Canelo fights. But they lowered the overall cost a boxing fan will pay adding a new yearly price that was cheaper then what you used to pay for DAZN. It's now 99 a year about 8 bucks a month. What they did is exactly what MLB TV does and NBA League Pass does. You have 1 price for just 1 month and a lower discount rate as a incentive to get you pay for the entire year. For example MLB tv cost 19.99 a month or 118 bucks for the entire year. By the way if you were already a DAZN subscriber you are grandfathered in at 9.99 a month until March NEXT year if you don't want to save money on 99 for the year. Literally the only ones complaining about the new price tier that actually SAVES boxing fans money are folks who Refused to subscribe to DAZN out of agenda in the first place. lol

Showtime costs you what 10-15 bucks a month and barely has any fights these days. The bulk of the fights are on FOX (one fight a month but the rest are on FS1 which like ESPN requires you buy a bundle cable package of about 40-50 bucks a month). And then on top of that the best fights on PBC will either be Showtime PPV or FOX PPV at almost 100 bucks a pop.

Perhaps you should change your name to the false serum because most of the good PBC fights will be on PPV or FOX.

I'm good at $10 a month and won't see a raise until like end of 2020.

In meantime I get ALL Canelo fights, AJ, Andrade, Vargas, USYK, Jacobs fights.

I have ESPN+ but that now suks! Gonna cancel it after that BS they said NO PPVS

I don't think so but my buddy has talked about getting it when it is out. He's a HUGE Marvel fan. It's only starting at about $5 I heard but you know that's jumping up after a year.

There is room in America for both streaming and PPV platforms. Unfortunatly people like Stephen the weasel Espinoza are greedy scumbags and want to cram any old crap on PPV, 1 sided fights, dud undercards and charge crazy prices at a time where illegal streaming is really easy and FREE.

Until they realize its not DAZN, Hearn or streaming but actually the PPV networks themselves that is choking the platform. Im in the UK, we can illegal stream just as well as in the States yet our PPV sales are going through the roof and breaking records. Its not rocket science, hell its not even business savvy, its just common sense. Id rather pay £20 to watch Anthony Joshua in perfect HD picture than to risk a stream failing on me mid fight, chances are it wouldnt but for £20 to watch a Heavyweight king its worth it. £60 £70 or even more????? Thats too much money i would be illegally streaming it at those prices.

Like i said, common sense. Pick the right fights, promote them well and charge a sensible amount and PPV would be fine in the U S and A. But youz are greedy ****ers, you cant help it. You fools are getting milked just like you say about us for some reason i cant figure out.

What about the lower tier DAZN guys?
I don't see Floyd ever coming back to fight but if he did I don't see him fighting Canelo. Canelo is too big now and he's gotten much better.
But if by some mysterious ways he did fight Canelo well unless DAZN pays him $300 million guaranteed then it'll be a ppv fight.
The lower tier DAZN fighters aren't ppv worthy so If a Golden Boy fighter was to fight a Top Rank fighter or a PBC fighter then I guess that fight would happen on whichever network offers the most money the way Linares fought Lomachenko on ESPN..
