But if by some mysterious ways he did fight Canelo well unless DAZN pays him $300 million guaranteed then it'll be a ppv fight.
The lower tier DAZN fighters aren't ppv worthy so If a Golden Boy fighter was to fight a Top Rank fighter or a PBC fighter then I guess that fight would happen on whichever network offers the most money the way Linares fought Lomachenko on ESPN..
Ok but networks don't bid on fights because fighters and promoters have exclusive network deals.

I don't think anything is wrong with DAZN. I just don't think it will replace PPV. DAZN is going to have to keep up the quality to be viable. I mean hey, who wouldn't want to pay $19.99 for Canelo/jacobs or Canelo/GGG 3.

However, if people get a string of Canelo/Fielding and Canelo/Kahn fights, they likely will not be happy.

I don't know if that's the case. It's a new model and it doesn't seem to address the issue of bringing in new fans to the sport. I also think it lacks the style and production value of HBO, Sho or even UFC for that matter. It lacks American style to me.

Ppv isn't what it used to be because the ppv cards have lesser quality for the most part. Not like when Don King would have 3 high quality fights on 1 card. Instead we end up with a trash undercard and ppv main events that don't deliver like Canelo vs Chavez Jr, Crawford vs quitting khan, spence vs Garcia, and there aren't ppv stars that are household names worldwide.

There is no need for PPV anymore. There are no big fights anymore. Wilder v. Joshua? Spence v. Crawford?

In the US (all of AJs, Bellew etc. exceeded that)

I stopped paying for boxing years ago. Not buying DAZN not buying PPV.

PBC has plenty of good fights and all you need is Showtime to see them all.
They upped it to $20 to prevent people from only subbing for one month at $10 for a big time fight that would be $50-$100 on PPV.

DAZN is $8 a month, less than a lunch at a restaurant. And you get a lot of good boxing with some of the best guys in the sport. Also get Bellator MMA.

3 of the last 4 PPVs did well (all PBC). How is it dead? It seem dazn is just killing fighter profiles because I haven't heard much about this highly competitive fight. The fighters aren't being interviewed on TV and the tickets haven't sold out. AJ also has a full arena to sell on Stubhub. I don't think subscription base is gonna be successful because fighters purses are already higher than what can be afforded by subscriptions alone

PPV is the only way fighters can receive parity salaries when compared to other sport. And they know that. Lets say everyone gets out the ppv game and it goes to streaming, then purses and guarantees will all of a sudden drop because the fighters have nowhere else to go. Bidding wars will be unnecessary because the fighter is locked in a contract. This explains the success of the Haymon model and why he is the reason these fighters purses have been going up across the board.
