  • Give Ortiz a chance to redeem himself. If AJ is going to give him a chance in the future, stick him on the undercard against a Brit. That way, Ortiz becomes better known to the UK public.

By the way, it wasn't Joshua that countered Wilder's offer. He verbally accepted it before Hearn got into it.
If Ortiz's manager was truthful on thaboxingvoice then we do know what transpired. Hearn made offers, Ortiz's promoter rejected them and ended negotiations. The offers made were for at least the amount that Ortiz himself wanted.

If Hearn and AJ didn't want the fight, why would they have made an offer that Ortiz's manager and trainer are now saying that he was happy with?

AJ didn't verbally accept Wilder's offer, unless you count a post on social media saying "Let's Roll". If that was sufficient acceptance why didn't Wilder's team then send a contract with the details? Either way, after the offer from Wilder was rejected, AJ/Hearn sent Wilder repeated offers, and a contract.

Even after Wilder refused to sign the contract, since AJ fought Povetkin, AJ/Hearn have sent multiple offers, all of which Wilder has rejected outright.

None of us do. But we know the offer was between $7m-$8m with a % of UK ppv sales. Ortiz's trainer confirmed that. He also confirmed that neither he nor Ortiz were consulted on that fee until after his promoter rejected the offer. If they were they would have accepted it.

I used the Wilder $50 million offer for an example. At the time it happened all AJ fans said it wasn't real because no contract was sent.

Now the shoe is on the other foot. Hearn won't send a contract until team Ortiz agrees verbally? ffs

If Hearn wanted Ortiz to fight, all he had to do is talk directly to him. If AJ wanted definitely to fight Ortiz, he would tell Hearn to make the damn fight. AJ is Hearn's boss, not the other way around.
Hearn wasn't asked to send a contract.

          Are you fckn nuts?

Why would he send a contract to a guy who had just turned down his offer?

And promoters make fights by contacting other promoters with offers, not by talking directly to fighters. This is especially true if the fighter concerned doesn't even speak the same language as the promoter!

Hearn is a legit business man. He wouldn't bypass a fighter's promoter and call him directly with an offer, that's bullshit. And Ortiz doesn't even speak English, btw.

Joshua would be fighting Ortiz if that is what he wants. That is the bottom line and a fact that cannot be disputed.
Hearn never said anything about a 24 hour deadline to sign to fight Povetkin.

The only people talking about a 24 hour deadline to sign the fight were ******ed Wilder fans like you.

Bro, THEY = Ortiz's team, came out themselves to say that it was a real offer. Why are you arguing with that?

They admitted they were wrong, and that the offer should have been accepted, so they could have seen a contract.

They tried to play hardball, they tried to smear Eddie Hearn by saying he was trying to waste their time.. until Hearn said he'd expose them.

                Then the tune changed.

They dropped the ball big time.

You do know that the only 24 hour deadline that was made, was from Wilder and his team right?

No I dont think he does. I think he gets his breaking boxing news from wilder fans on YouTube and cuz they sound so passionate they must be telling the truth so he believes what they are saying and brings it on here as some sort of facts that he heard on YouTube.

Google is a wonderful thing, you should try it. It took me 5 seconds to come up with several links about the 24 hr deadline that the WBA gave Joshua for the Povetkin fight.
