There’s no shady Cubans involved with them turning down 100 million and 7 million
Well yea obviously & thats what we are seeing now it appears or otherwise we wouldn't be talking about this situation.
If Ortiz & his team are smart (& I have no reason to believe they are based on them being locked into a deal with a legit sham promoter) I'd be on one phone with Eddie telling him to not pull the trigger on a June 1 fight yet & on a second phone or ideally knocking on the door of the promoter to sort this all out with the quickness.
Exactly. And that's why this whole story is a bunch on nonsense.
They haven't signed anyone for the fight on June 1st as of yet. I think we all know who told him to not take the fight. Same guy who had Wilder pass up $120 million...

Ok I just listened to the whole interview on Boxing Voice
1. Jay Jiminez, his manager/trainer, was all over the place. He's complaining about the promoter not accepting the fight and when Nes asks him why not call Al and get him involved he said he doesn't get involved in that. But he also said he was in meetings with Hearn and the promoter and had words with both of them.
2. The lowball offer statement comes from
-the short period of time Luis has to train, he's taking less than Miller even though Miller had more time to train
-There's $30 million in the fight so they felt $5 was low
3. Ortiz has money. So that $500k people keep referencing is nowhere near the amount he made for fighting Wilder. It was much more.
4. Ortiz is not active on social media. Jay Jiminez and his son run the account. So that $10 mil post was either Jiminez or his son
5. Luis trusts his promoter because his promoter has never led him wrong. He promised Luis he'll get him $5 mil for a Wilder fight. If he doesn't deliver he's in breach of contract
If Luis really wants the fight he's gotta tell his promoter to get the damn fight. He's gotta stop being passive.

this is a real easy statement to make with no evidence to support it. Lots of people like to claim this as if they are insiders with some secret knowledge. $500k is the purse that was filed with the NY commission. If he made more than that, then he has committed income tax fraud against the State of NY. I sincerely doubt that him and his people would let that be public knowledge if it were true.Last edited by OnePunch; 04-26-2019, 06:04 PM.
