Dade Promotions just phuked Ortiz and cost him millions. Can't blame this on Haymon because another Haymon fighter Ruiz just scooped in and got the fight after Ortiz dumb azzz promoter priced themselves out and lied to their own client about the offer they received lol

Ruiz is a really solid replacement opponent. Was controversially outpointed by Joseph Parker in 2016, his lone bid for the title. Doesn’t come in great shape, but fast hands and power in both fists. Scored a fifth-round KO of Alexander earlier this month. Ruiz is a PBC fighter

All that means is that the WBA wanted confirmation within 24 hours of either

a) Anthony Joshuas intention to fight his mandatory Povetkin.

or

b) Anthony Joshuas intention to unify with Wilder, in which case a contract needs to be signed as there are no more extensions


Wilders team waited it out successfully and sat on the contract for 4 damn weeks until the WBA were forced to act on behalf of Povetkin.
