They never wanted the fight. This is just damage control. He was asked at least five times why he doesn't just pick up the phone and save the fight. He kept deflecting and beating around the bush. A couple of months ago, Ortiz was the boss and the one making the decisions. Now it's all up to the promoter.Last edited by nixxter; 04-26-2019, 02:07 PM.

Wednesday - Eddie Hearn threatens to "expose" Luis Ortiz's team on the offer.
Friday - Ortiz's team announce it's their fault the AJ fight isn't happening.

He was pissed off because he said the offer was higher than $5million and he'd been speaking with Ortiz's manager about it and thought they were on the same page.
I've been reading about this in another thread. It turns out the statement came from Ortiz's promoter, not his manager, and $5million is what would have been left for Ortiz after the promoter took his cut.Last edited by kafkod; 04-26-2019, 02:17 PM.
