  • Ortiz seems to be gun shy and I think we can all guess why - ped cycle.

If Ruiz could get under 250lb I think he could pose Joshua problems, still a big outside bet.

Why would his promoter block the fight when he was claiming that he wanted to make it? Or was he all of a sudden lying in his statements on Tuesday.

Thing is his promoter can still say no.

But yea you are on the right path. Ortiz needs to publicly shame or insult or plead or w/e he feels like will work.
His promoter can say no, but if Ortiz doesn't ask him, we won't know?

My conclusion is he is on a cycle between fights
Or someone he calls his adviser, advised him not to take the fight.

The promoter stuff is nothing but BS.
Or Haymon has paid Dade promotions to turn it down and guaranteed him x for the Wilder fight.

        • I would have like to see this fight, even if Ortiz looked dull vs Hammer.

Thats how it works doe. A promoter is the first line of defense on a deal to a fighter under contract. Everything trickles down from there.

So the next question is did Dade share the full details of the deal with anyone else? Idk that we can do anything but speculate on that right now, but with Eddie implying the deal was closer to/around $7M (from my take) & Team Ortiz is talking about a $5M deal its safe to assume Dade Promotions was taking $2M-ish off the top & wasn't happy enough with that.

            • so Caicedo and Ortiz knew NOTHING about Hearns offer? I just find that a lil hard to believe, tbh....

Am with you 100%, I don’t believe this BS. This is to save face. After a week and a half the trainer is now coming out? This gangsters (Dade promotion) would have sold him for 2m dollars!!! They sold him for 500k to Haymon for a Wilder fight and they want us to believe they would drop 5-7m dollars lol... Yeah right. They are trying to save his “Boogeymen” reputation since he has been taking massive hits everywhere in the social media.

Well yea obviously & thats what we are seeing now it appears or otherwise we wouldn't be talking about this situation.

If Ortiz & his team are smart (& I have no reason to believe they are based on them being locked into a deal with a legit sham promoter) I'd be on one phone with Eddie telling him to not pull the trigger on a June 1 fight yet & on a second phone or ideally knocking on the door of the promoter to sort this all out with the quickness.
