Why did the ref give Fury a few seconds to walk around after getting knocked down?

Yes it did. The ref made Kauffman walk left and right.

They all do something to satisfy themselves the fighter can continue. That's fair enough with me - as long as it's a reasonable amount of time. A few seconds is worth it to avoid some of the horror injuries the sport has seen.

What wasn't reasonable was Wilder being sent back to get checked out after a minute on his stool! I still can't fathom why they did that if it wasn't simply to give him more time to recover.

The most corrupt ref in a Fury fight is a choice between the one that gave him the win over John Mcdermott and the one that allowed him to do what he did to KO Cunningham

        Sorry Curt.

        Let's keep it to boxing.
I believe Joshua has made every effort to make the fight and Wilder is ducking

If Fury was indeed "very hurt" in that 12th rd, no amount of extra seconds could have saved him from Wilder.
But he was just groggy. He even staggered Wilder in that very same round.

Reis did the same thing to Lopez last after Garcia knocked him down. After the count, he asked Lopez a few questions, made him walk forward to see if he was on wobbly legs.

It is absolutely normal and permitted. Let it go, son. Let it go.

Wilder was robbed of a KO victory by Jack Reiss!
