That dent wouldn't prevent a fight with Canelo, because he wouldn't lose his mandatory with a loss @ 168! Jermall was idle for 8 months before Korobov. It's now been almost 4 months since then, and I haven't heard anything besides making an offer to the winner of "The Contender," who chose to fight GGG instead! Not a good look!

He said June or July he is fighting. All that matters is keeping that mandatory at this point to fight the P4P best fighter right now. (I have Nelo at #1 P4P). I don't think it makes sense to play with weight classes going up & down.

While that would be nice, the fight is Benavidez vs Plant. Let's hope that unification bout happens early 2020.

Callum Smith might arguably whoop both, well, Smith v Benavidez would be a great fight.

Can't see it happening anytime soon though.

A lot of these 168 guys are acting like Smith doesn't exist, despite the fact he's probably no.1 in the division and holds the Ring Belt too.

Smith is likely going to be just fighting on DAZN and the others are on SHO/FOX. I wouldn't even waste my energy thinking of that fight. Benavidez vs Plant is the fight to make on the PBC side by early 2020.

That's what i mean, i don't see it happening for that reason unless more fighters jump ship, or Hearn offers someone big money for that fight.

I was really impressed with Plant when he won the title. I think any of the top fighters in the division need to be at the top of their game when they fight him. He's the kind of fighter that can make you look bad if you're not having a good night.

Absolutely, you could argue his win over Uzcategui's was better than Smith's win over Groves. Really similar level and that's why I have a hard time just rating Smith as the best at SMW. I mean he may be, but let's not act like his resume' is super strong or anything. All these guys just have one good to really good win. Benavidez doesn't have a win on the level of Uzcategui or Groves, but if he beats Dirrell and then Plant? That would be impressive.

The winner of Benavidez vs Plant will have the best claim to being the top dog at 168 unless Smith finds himself in the mix or is somehow able to get Bivol to come down.

Did he say who he's fighting June or July? I understand keeping that mandatory spot, but Canelo can freeze him out for a minute! He could be fighting Jacobs twice, then GGG, and then a fight at 168! WBC is not stripping Canelo! You and I both know that! Jermall needs to consider 168 (Eubank, Plant, Quillen), or signing a deal with DAZN! I'm a PBC fan too, but it is what it is!

Cuz you dudes can't watch a fight without getting confused by the commentating. They were saying Mell won (I had Mell losing or a draw at best) & they had Mall losing (I had Mall clearly winning). And why did korobov have excuses if he/you thought he won? LMMFAO!
