Mall lost the fight and got a gift against a well past his best Korobov on short notice. That's getting exposed to the max. It wasn't a top fighter. Hell, Korobov wasn't even a top fighter at his best.

Don't worry though flag waiver, Mall will be too scared to have the rematch so you won't have to see your boy lose again.

Golovkin isn't going to go fight on Fox/Showtime given the deal with DAZN that includes giving him equity in DAZN and also guaranteed dates for his GGG promotions company in the future (that currently has no fighters...but that's clearly his plan once he takes stage left, and he's got guaranteed dates to sign fighters into).

DAZN wants/needs Golovkin vs Canelo/Jacobs winner at the end of the year, so they don't want Golovkin losing before September, so expect a Fielding type fight (which Golovkin will get a cool 10mil for !).

PBC's offer to Golovkin was a 2 fight deal, with each fight 10mil+, with one of those fights being Charlo (presumably the second one after a similar 'Fileding level' fight to kick off with).

Can't see any way Charlo v Golovkin happens given the network affiliations.

A Fielding type fight? The Regular Champion in a higher weight class? Or a guy off the couch no one knows , brought up to 160 for Golovkin? Haha.
Golovkin vs. Charlo could have and should have been made and it still can be made. Remember Al Haymon alows their fighter's to fight on other networks if they choose to. Golovkin & Charlo didn't move a finger to make that fight for the fans , division & WBC , they deserve plenty of criticism for it.

Doesn't really matter if its Korobov next or not, if Dervy for example, we'll find out if Charlo just had a bad night or not. for Charlo to live up to his hype he should have done the same to Korobov as Canelo did to Fielding. Can you imagine Canelo struggling to a decision win over Fielding ? That's how we know Canelo a different league, he makes it show vs out-gunned opponents.
            excellent post

Why do people use this short notice excuse as if Charlo had ample time to prepare for Koborov? They had the exact amount of time to prepare for each other.

Koborov wasn't off camp either, he was gonna fight on the Charlo undercard against another opponent, he prepared for a different opponent, but so what, Charlo also prepared for a different opponent.

If anything Koborov would be in trouble in the rematch because Charlo will be more prepared for him.

I remember an interviews of Koborov from two years ago where he repeatedly called out Charlo when Charlo was still fighting at 154 and said he had studied Charlo for a long time and knew how to beat him.

This guy has been obsessed with Charlo for years even before they were in the same division and preparing strategies to beat him, now he wana come here and claim he didn't have enough time wtf? They had the exact same amount of time, only he had been preparing for this showdown for years.

Having said all that, Charlo really should be rematching this dude and erase any doubt over the outcome. But he probably won't, not sure whether that be because he shook or because his handlers won't allow him to.

Gennady Golovkin set to break-in DAZN deal with June 8 fight against Brandon Adams

According to a report by WBN, former middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (38-1-1, 34 KOs) has just been set to kick-off his new DAZN deal by taking on ‘The Contender’ winner Brandon Adams (21-2, 13 KOs) on June 8th. It’s also being reported that the venue for the fight hasn’t been set just yet, but that New York is the most likely destination...

This June 8th card on DAZN is also slated to have WBO middleweight titleholder Demetrius Andrade (27-0, 17 KOs) taking on Maciej Sulecki (28-1, 11 KOs) as a co-feature bout.

I want what's be$t for the boxers & they can still fight no matter what network they fight for. Mandatories & purse bids can take care of that.

Yes & he just moved up so he should put his dues in the new division he is in. Nelo is his main option now being that he is the mandatory..
