He was caught and it was proven, why are we still making threads about it. Matter of fact he has been a journeyman type fighter without plaster.
Let's put an end to this Margarito and plaster nonsense.

And yet, nobody said it was hard. Dozens of people in the ring, and not a single person has said his wraps, knuckles, or hands felt hardened.Comment

You must of been a hell of a student in school huh?
Margarito himself said they were hardened but he didn't know his trainer put them in.
I posted a link already but like in the other thread you ignored the facts of the case.Comment

Good post. The only evidence we have regarding Margarita possibly cheating prior to Mosley, actually shows that he did not cheat.Everyone wants their own narrative based upon their biases. Since Floyd ducked Margarito, his fans want to erase Margarito's legacy entirely, and claim that he was never a legitimate threat without plaster or that he used it in every big fight. Yet, mention the illegal IV and those same hypocrites are quick to come to Floyd's defense and say that he was dehydrated and it's not proof he had ever cheated in the past.
Same way they insist Margarito cheated his entire career, they ignore the transformation by Marquez when he suddenly bulked up at age 39, putting on ten pounds of solid muscle while burning thousands of calories per day in training camp. Acne on chest, back, and punching power he never had before was not suspect in the least to the cherry pickers who make excuses for one fighter while discrediting another.
I will say, it is suspect for Margarito once he was caught. We have no way of ever truly knowing whether or not he was cheating prior to the Mosley fight. Margarito & Cotto were allowed to wear 8 oz. gloves for their fight versus the usual 10 oz. for WW. That might explain the pummeling Cotto took, and it may not. We will never know for certain.Comment

After the fight no one was suspecting anything other than we just witness a great fight. MargaCheato was celebrating the victory. Why would anyone want to feel his wraps? At the moment there was NO su****ion. Unlike the Resto vs Collins fight, where Collins trainer, touched Resto’s gloves as a way of sportsmanship, only to feel his knuckles.
And by the way wraps are a bit hard because they’re wrap with tape.Last edited by sugar ray lenrd; 02-08-2019, 10:37 AM.Comment

Sure. But boxing is a dark sport on the political side, and even today with high profile fights, trainers benefit from any noise knowing it can cause controversy afterwards and it benefits the losing side. Even in Reddit forums, where people would question how Kovalev "broke" his gloves in by hitting walls. How does this general info get leaked? Would it have been John David Jackson and the people he's generally affiliated with? Remember it was Richardson who spotted Capetillo's wraps, the same Richardson who had Bhop vs Kova/JDJ.After the fight no one was suspecting anything other than we just witness a great fight. We don't know if Capetillo has had enemies that they would leak info to GBP. From Roach complaining about Floyd's wraps vs Pacquiao. From Floyd seeing Maidana's gloves with no padding in the front knuckles. From GGG opponents complaining about his "small gloves" and more weight at the wrists, to Abel Sanches like Roach complaining about wrapping.
All those stir noise, but the reality is that Capetillo can no longer work a corner in the USA. They literally found Plaster of Paris derivatives in the wraps they confiscated. Capetillo admitted his tamperings. Because Mosley wasn't physically touched by the wraps, luckily no charges were towards Capetillo.
Ironically, Mosley was using EPO and other anabolic steroids to stay relevant in the scene, especially in a time before advanced drug testing.
Boxing is an ugly sport, but I guess that's what love about it. But with the Resto wraps... that's oldschool shady prize fighting. Loadedwraps was a common practice from the past.Comment

Tony took off the gloves and shook hands with everyone after destroying Cotto. Plus how do you explain Cotto's corner and CSAC signing off on the wrappings? After the fight no one was suspecting anything other than we just witness a great fight. I don't think there is any solid proof that he cheated for the Cotto fight, but anyone out there that believes that he did is more than welcome to that opinion because Margarito (or his trainer depending on what or who you believe) brought it on himself when he got caught out there for the Mosley fight. If he knew the inserts were placed in his wraps, he committed a cardinal sin and he can't really blame anyone for not giving him the benefit of the doubt.
Especially when he made light of it. No fvvcks given.
