UFC fights end quicker than boxing matches. The last big UFC card ended in 30 seconds. That's why their cards are bigger. UFC 234 has 5 fights on the main event, and it starts at 10 EST. Boxing can't do that. That's not including the 4 fights that'll be on ESPN leading into the ppv.
Is Showtime heading the HBO way?

.And more significantly, in considering whether 24/7 is programming or/and marketing, it should be noted that each series cost $1,400,000 to produce.Comment

to assume Showtime's investment in productions is identical to HBO 24/7 is innacurate. Weren't we referring to All Access? 24/7 De La Hoya vs Mayweather article from which you are referring to is the same production investment as Pac Broner? cmon mateComment

Say it's half....proves my original pointComment

They were hoping for 350K and got 400K. And those fighters will be in additional ppvs in the future that'll generate more.Comment

Even if we say its half. What is the point of these fantasies to assume Showtime will fail?
A simple graph chart shows Showtime elevating vs HBO's graph in recent years, since Ward Kovalev declining. Canelo and GGG alone couldn't save HBO boxing. Showtime has a pool of fighters, and unless FOX invests in a bigger team to handle combat sports or boxing from any PBC plan, then Showtime would lose some noise. Truth is Fox can only allocate a certain amount. Let's see what the Fox execs think about boxing. They could do a 180 and say we prefer to invest The Voice vs Big Chef garbage instead. It's hard to say who's a ****sexual on that board. Personally I blame it on cheap coffee and donuts during those meetings.Comment
