Showtime could easily make an app for boxing should they ever feel insecure about PPV decline. The showtime app itself is cluttered with on demand stuff that doesn’t interest boxing purists
So Showtime is going to hope Fox doesn’t invest boxing. For them to get free exposure at the end once fox is gone and all PBC goes back to showtime! Thats ****** business if anything showtime & fox are competitors! It’s like FOX losing NFL-NFC division tv rights to ABC and them being happy with that! That list of content and ******! And what if FOX does a long term investment with PBC where does that leave Showtime! IMO the same as HBO!

How are they symbiotic? The FOX deal was good for PBC but not for Showtime.

Showtime will benefit from the FOX deal. They can't be the sole distributor to the biggest stable in boxing.

The first PBC launches they paid to be showed on NBC CBS and FOX. To see which one would like their product and overall buy product and do a long term contract which they did get with FOX for the next 3 years! Showtime will only benefit fro the fox if fox doesn’t continue past their 3 year contract with PBC. But what if Fox wants a contract extension with PBC where does that leave Showtime for the next years! It leaves showtime aśś out with low level fights and very few fights or PPV fights like HBO right before they left the boxing business!

The simple answer is, has PBC grown exponentially since 2015? PBC has become a stapled and boxing commodity. Pacquiao has particular productions exclusive to Shwotime sports, to name a few.

People are crazy if they think that Showtime/CBS are happy about one of their competitors investing heavily into the boxing business at their expense.

                Probably

When pbc launched the idea was to increase fighters popularity on free tv and when they return to showtime it would lead to higher ratings. That didn't happen

There is no ppv money anymore for showtime. Mayweather retired .

                Showtime ratings are abysmal .

Give it a couple years and showtime will be out of boxing too because I just dont see gervonta Davis being a ppv fighter like ellerbe says he's gonna be.

And there's no fighters who can be standalone ppv stars. If Spence is gonna be ppv it's only Vs Thurman maybe, pac for sure but doubt that happens unless roach has gone delusional, and Crawford is a co-ppv with espn

Showtime has a focus on PPV. How have they been doing so far since Wilder vs Fury? PAC Broner and then Garcia Spence. These are all preliminaries for more PPV to come. The engine is just getting started.

DAZN has a while to keep up to, but eventually they’ll get there. To me Fox and Showtime are practically family. ESPN+ are the ones who will have to bid for more stars to come. Loma and Crawford can only do so much. Crawford fights have been boring imo, but he chose to stay with Top Rank and not go to Fox or Shwotime for more logical and easier matchmaking. That’s on him riding into the sunset with in-house fights as did Bradley.

PBC has grown but will Showtime Boxing content in the next few years! Manny Pacquaio is a 40 yr old past his prime that fights on PPV! So far in this year Showtime has been lacking with boxing content. As a showtime subscriber for solely boxing I might cancel my subscription with no good fight lined up for the next few months! Davis vs Ruiz is a disgrace and I for sure won’t pay PPV to watch a 40 yr old Pacquaio! I’m sure other boxing fans think the same!

PBC Success does not equal Showtime success! If anything FOX is the one winning with its good rating from the PBC event on Fox!
