But what if Fox wants a contract extension with PBC where does that leave Showtime for the next years! It leaves showtime aśś out with low level fights and very few fights or PPV fights like HBO right before they left the boxing business!
If the PBC grows like they want to, they'll be plenty of dates and fighters to go around. FOX shows 10 high marquee fights a year, and Showtime shows 12.

Among Errol Spence, Deontay Wilder, Pacquiao (those 3 will most likely be ppvs), Broner, Thurman, Jermell Charlo, Jermall Charlo, Jarret Hurd, Shawn Porter, Danny Garcia, Leo Santa Cruz, Gervonta Davis, Caleb Plant, David Benevidez, Mikey Garcia, Gary Russel Jr, etc, all of these guys are going to be fighting 2-3 times a year. Each one of those guys would be in headliners. Occasionally you can get them on an undercard, but not all of the time. That's not counting the Lamont Peterson, Tony Harrison, and Uzcategui level guys who'll be taking those undercard slots.

Neither Showtime nor FOX can handle all of those fighters. That's why they were so inactive in the past. Both networks will benefit from these guys fighting more often.

DAZN has a while to keep up to, but eventually they’ll get there. To me Fox and Showtime are practically family. ESPN+ are the ones who will have to bid for more stars to come. Loma and Crawford can only do so much. Crawford fights have been boring imo, but he chose to stay with Top Rank and not go to Fox or Shwotime for more logical and easier matchmaking. That’s on him riding into the sunset with in-house fights as did Bradley.
Well Garcia Spence isn't a Showtime PPV fight, its FOX. And how can Fox and Showtime be "family" if Showtime is owned by one of Fox's competitors (CBS)?

There is no ppv money anymore for showtime. Mayweather retired .

        Showtime ratings are abysmal .

Give it a couple years and showtime will be out of boxing too because I just dont see gervonta Davis being a ppv fighter like ellerbe says he's gonna be.

And there's no fighters who can be standalone ppv stars. If Spence is gonna be ppv it's only Vs Thurman maybe, pac for sure but doubt that happens unless roach has gone delusional, and Crawford is a co-ppv with espn
Showtime just had 2 successful ppvs in the past 2 months.

          lol

Showtime has Manny Pacquiao on PPV, and will have the 2nd Wilder-Fury fight on PPV too (after getting the first one last year too; Wilder will likely be PPV exclusive to Showtime as well), Gervonta Davis is being featured on Showtime for February, with Lara/Ortiz/Rigondeaux/Barthelemy likely for March.

Showtime is developing "Boots" Ennis, as well as Devin Haney, and they're also working on developing Claressa Shields too, to go along with the rest of the quality prospects getting their first shots on ShoBox.

And that's before you get to the SHO International cards that will likely be added to the schedule (Poxon Sports will carry most of the load featuring The Haymon-affiliated guys in the UK, but there are also PPV fights from Eddie or Frank that their US partners may not be all that excited about)

PBC on FOX will sop up a ton of the talent (Spence will likely be the flagship guy on FOX, which now makes the eventual WBC/WBA/IBF 147lb title unification an event with competing choices), but it's not like Showtime is barren here.

Boxing is still a focused part of the marketing push of Showtime/CBS, and that's unlikely to change anytime soon (especially if Thurman-Pacquiao ends up getting locked in after Wilder-Fury 2 gets locked in).

Davis vs Ruiz is a disgrace and I for sure won’t pay PPV to watch a 40 yr old Pacquaio! I’m sure other boxing fans think the same!
The concept of PBC investing Pacquiao is to carry his exposure to the fighters who started Welter in 2015. PAC being married to PBC boosts Wilder’s profile too.

Do realize that whatever business model you see think future goals and brand expansion. When’s this generation leaves the Haney’s, Garcia’s, Shakur’s follow etc.

I wouldn’t be worried about Showtime. Haymon makes good fights

And HBO had 3 consecutive Canelo PPV's that sold a million buys and they still got out of boxing. That's no guarantee.

How the F are Showtime & Fox familu when they are in direct competition for boxing Content! That like saying McDonald’s & Burger King are family when they in direct competition! This a business nor fanboy talk! If anything you are a PBC fan which is a fine but don’t say ****** talk! What does ESPN have to do with This talk! ESPN is fine with its content Top Rank delivers! Top Rank is exclusive too ESPN something PBC is not to Showtime and that’s why Showtime will fail! Top Rank/espn has upcoming stars like Gabe Flores, Teofimo Lopez & Silver Medalist Shakur Stevenson coming up! So Showtime will only depend on PPV to survive sound like HBO on its final years to me! If Wilder don’t hit the 1 million PPv buys vs Fury better believe Showtime will fail! And Also The biggest PPV care of the year Spence vs Garcia in “ON FOX”!!!!!

UFC has a bigger roster than PBC and they are all on ESPN or UFC ESPN PPV!
