It's alarming how many do get caught with not so great testing too.

The following have been caught in recent years

      Canelo Alvarez
      Rosendo Alvarez
      Ray Beltran
      Andre Berto
      Shannon Briggs
      Lucien Bute
      Lucas Browne
      Julio Cesar Chavez JR
      Tyson Fury
      Yuriokis Gamboa
      Roy Jones
      Guillermo Jones
      J'Leon Love
      Erik Morales
      Shane Mosley
      Jameel McCline
      John Molina JR
      Luis Ortiz
      Brandon Rios
      Orlando Salido
      Antonio Tarver
      Tony Thompson
      James Toney
      Francisco Vargas
      Fernando Vargas
      Billy Joe Saunders

Just to name a few fairly high profile one's.

Great list, and then compound that with some of the high profile names (Mayorga etc.) that have been caught with diuretics following a bout which has evolved, these days, into masking agents. Yeah, it's pretty alarming to say the least.

          True.

I'm at the point where it's too difficult and expensive to do real and fair testing all the time and there's so much corruption in the sport where I think maybe they should just legalize it all?

Hearing ex-HW contender Jameel McCline talk about his PED usage on the Talk Box podcast last year was super eye opening for me. And he was a cat who never got popped for anything during his career. I'd love to hear him talk off the record cuz his implication was that he knew way more about other people who used PEDs in his era than he was willing to talk about with Michael Woods.

And yea it is a tough call to ban guys for life cuz there are tainted supplements out there in the highly unregulated industry. There is a government site that lists all the things found in various supplement brands & its crazy what you'll see listed there & in what supplements. I've been saying for years that anyone who's bought anything as basic as protein powder from GNC has ingested PEDs before & I believe thats the case far more often than not.
              Yeah for sure

Haven’t listened to that podcast, but makes sense boxers in a pretty small community and like baseball when they went through their steroid era , The fighters know who’s doping and who’s not and unless their Malignaggi they don’t say anything

That’s why I find it odd that so many brush off Paulie for his steroid comments. He obviously knows and is only not to give a sh.it and go on record.

For combat sports, "in competition" is defined as the period between midnight of the night before the fight, up until the fight is over.

Outside that period, oxilofrine is not prohibited for combat athletes by WADA or any of the UK, European, and US boxing commissions.

That's why Andrade called BJS "unprofessional" for failing the VADA test, rather than calling him a PED cheat.

Its worth checking out that episode for anyone curious about PEDs in boxing.

I think Paulie gets brushed off by some just cuz of his hardcore focus on Manny that doesn't even skate the line from criticism to obsession it lunges head first into obsession territory. Thats not a good look on pure speculation which is all any of us have unless someone has legit popped dirty for something.

I think Paulie should be DeGales Strength and conditioning coach and teach him how to hit the heavybags....
