“However, what is detected in the drug tests is the metabolism product of this molecule, called 19-norandrosterone, which is excreted from the body in urine, making it easy to obtain samples. A limit of 2 ng per ml of urine (set by the International Olympic Committee) is the maximum concentration thought possible to occur in human body by 'natural means', and if this is exceeded the drug test is considered positive. Since some samples given by athletes have shown levels up to 100 times higher than this, the conclusion is that the athletes must have been taking extra quan****** of the drug to enhance their performance.”

Um, because eating right just maximizes your natural potential.

          PED's make you superhuman.

If you're gonna allow PED's, then you might as well allow Cyborgs, or people with robotic parts as well.

But its likely he did attempt to use them, we just dont know 100%.
Roy Jones was caught using Ripped Fuel, which is sold at GNC and not a real PED, just illegal.

Kind of like how marijuana is illegal, but it's not a real drug like crack or heroin.

On the other hand Holyifeld was never proven to use them, but gets castigated daily for it.

I wonder if DeGale is using this as an excuse.
Holyfield was the only one caught red handed.

ESPN caught him through his doctor.

Holyfield had HGH, testosterone and glukor shipped to his house.

RJJ tested for andro which was legal at the time and could be bought at GNC.

            Holyfield was far worse.

I will hold my hands up to being wrong if it wasnt a PED. But he was a grown adult too, he should have known what he was doing, its no excuse, he was a pro athlete. We have to accept he likely did something bad ONCE.

Actually RJJ and his team blamed it was from Ripped Fuel.

Advanced Drug Testing in 90s wasn't even scouting for trace amounts. Trace amounts and Olympic testing came into boxing post 2010. What's worse is that many of the cases were from post fight urine tests not advanced drug testing with promoters battling it out 60 days before the fight.

This context is important. Fighters from the 90s could have adverse findings in the milligram level, not picogram levels so far away. Obviously findings from a post fight urine test (which weren't blood samples) would highly give reasonable cause for cheating.

I'd say fighters before advanced drug testing had it easy, nor was there any 365.

Oh, I agree that he deserved the suspension, but you do have to make a distinction between the type of systemic doping that guys like Holyfield, Canelo, and Moseley was doing, in comparison to a dude who went to GNC and got something your or I could get from the store.
