There is actually a pretty simple way of having an extremely good idea of who is dirty.

If a fighter moves up and puts on a lot of muscle fast - they're dirty. It's that simple. It is physiologically impossible to put on a lot of lean muscle fast. And that is even if your whole training/living regime is dedicated to absolutely nothing else than muscle gains - which is not true of fighters.

The thing about boxing and wrestling and MMA is that the athletes are weighed and they cut to make weight so when they move up you are comparing like with like. They have cut out water for example so it's a pretty good measure of lean muscle mass and indeed they look shredded. This being the case you can tell if someone has put on pounds of what looks like lean muscle in a short time.

To anyone who knows sports science/physiology and sports like bodybuilding this is no mystery.

Of course it's widespread. Without testing year round, fighters can dope and microdose between fights.

Oxilofrine is currently a World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibited substance.

                  Suspend him for what?

He didn't break any WADA rules and the BBBoC follow WADA rules.

So do every licencing commision in the US. They all allow oxilofrine out of competition.

USADA allow oxilofrine out of competition.

It wasn't even listed as an ingredient of the nasal decongestant spray BJS was using. VADA themselves said in their statement that it probably arose from a legal dose of methedrine, which was in the stuff BJS was using.

No it isn't. It is allowed outside of competition for combat athletes.

While I’m all for lengthy suspensions for fighters caught , don’t think the instantly banned for life is the right approach because there’s such a fine line in supplements and medications between what’s allowable and what’s considered dirty that athletes take, there should be some wiggle room to see if it was done intentionally or out of ignorance
Yea agree with most everything you're saying.

Hearing ex-HW contender Jameel McCline talk about his PED usage on the Talk Box podcast last year was super eye opening for me. And he was a cat who never got popped for anything during his career. I'd love to hear him talk off the record cuz his implication was that he knew way more about other people who used PEDs in his era than he was willing to talk about with Michael Woods.

And yea it is a tough call to ban guys for life cuz there are tainted supplements out there in the highly unregulated industry. There is a government site that lists all the things found in various supplement brands & its crazy what you'll see listed there & in what supplements. I've been saying for years that anyone who's bought anything as basic as protein powder from GNC has ingested PEDs before & I believe thats the case far more often than not.
