I would be down for a rematch but Kownacki has moved up. Martin took Kownacki’s best shots without folding showing he has a hell of a chin. He is tougher than I thought & I like the fact he is willing to fight anyone. I’d like to see him fight a few more top 30 guys. I’d like to see him fight Kauffman & see how he does with a fighter like him.

Arreola is also on the comeback trail, that would be a damn good fight.
Arreola is shot beyond belief. In what world would that be a damn good fight? If it was competitive, the only thing it would prove is that Martin is not world level.

Ortiz-Martin would be a solid fight. Id like to see Ruiz-Arreola as well

Ruiz-Arreola would be decent. Battle of the bulge! They could fight for the BK Crown in New Zealand!
I would think Ruiz would just outwork him and probably knock him out mid to late rounds but who knows.
Arreola could get a lucky punch but that's probably his only shot.

I'm with you on this. I had only seen a few of Martin's fights. They we're either against limited opposition, abbreviated by freak injury (Glazkov) or over quickly (AJ). I'm not going to use it as an excuse but I think the magnitude of the fight and crowd could have been overwhelming for Martin when he faced Joshua. I don't think he would have won but if it wasn't such a big stage (AJ's coronation as Champ before his fans), he may have fared better. The Glozkov fight was televised but it was a weird ending early.

I don't think Martin is as bad as people make him out to be. His "walking the Earth like a good" commentary and performance against AJ may have allowed him to be considered a joke. I also think he lacks some self confidence (despite the above mentioned comments). He fought Kownacki pretty competitively and got better as the fight went on. A fight against Kauffman would tell us a lot more about how he could rate as a gatekeeper/fringe contender in the division.

Martin is a pretty good fighter who completely froze up on the big stage against Joshua. He is not a no talent bum like many, who have only seen his fight with Joshua, might think he is.
